Has anybody managed to retrofit/program the screen on the dashboard to show the cool things that the Black Series is able to show?

Nerdy things like air temp, stopwatch, vtec engagement blah blah blah?

What you're looking for is called the AMG Performance Media.
It is possible, but will require additional hardware in the form of a Performance Media Controller, etc.

Makes sense why I couldn't find anything on it in my search....I'd never heard of the Performance Media thing.

And at 2000 bux for the hardware...I'll just stick with staring at my oil temp gauge on the instrument cluster

I researched this too. I think that the set of features offered is great and it complements what one already has in the AMG screen. The controllers could be interchangeable and these days even ML's 9non AMG) come as an option with the performance media. But each controller has to be loaded with the car's info, weight and so on. So ideally you'd have the one for your car.

The Performance Media option was a $2500 option - probably why it isn't that common.

If you have a vtec engagement indicator or gauge, you have bigger problems. For starters, you're missing at least two if not four cylinders and all the gubbins that live in them...
