Buying a c63 with worn PPP Discs
Hi Guys, I'm new to the c63 world and the whole Performance pack brake thing is confusing the hell out of me right. I keep reading different things, so I need some advice.
I'm looking to buy a 2011 c63 with the PPP, but the front discs have lip and will need replacing shortly. Google searches tell me that these cost the earth? If so, I have a few questions: A) Where is the best place to go to get a competitive price? B) I'm not going to track the car, so will standard discs fit and has it been done before?
A vin search shows a P30 pack (read this was P31 in germany) How can I check its the PPP, is it by the colour of the value cover ie. Dark grey
I'd appreciate any help.
Cheers!

Welcome to the site/forum man. I highly recommend that you do a search before posting a thread asking a question that I've literally seen 15 threads answering in the past 3 months if you don't want to get lambasted by others. Cheers!

2012 P31 C63 Coupe Trackrat, 2019 GLE63S Coupe Beast
A) FCPEuro
B) Yes, standard rotors fit fine and many people do this
C) I believe P31 (more power, forged internals, carbon and alcantara trim, red calipers, 1.5 piece rotors) started in 2012, before it was P30 and had very different options (suspension, alcantara trim, true 2-piece rotors, LSD). P31 have titanium grey intake manifold that is darker than the light grey on normal C63's.
Best thing to do is run your VIN and look at the full option codes list. Only real way to tell. https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...in-decode.html

Also the search function here works well

Thanks Guys. I did some searching and checked out the VIN on a few sites, but I've been reading a few contradictory things about the PPP and when it came out, which confused me. Dealer says its P30 on a 2011, so that makes sense.
If I can replace the discs then thats ok.
Thanks!

P31 started in late 2010... red brake calipers, forged internals and claimed 481hp ....
the p30 has different suspension and the full 2 piece rotors instead of the 1.5 that the p31 have.
its simple to tell on the rotors just have a look if the hat and rotor are bolted together is 2 peice. If it’s a 2011 then it’s the p31, p30 was discontinued in 2010

Might as well post this here too so that people that search can get the correct informaton instead of people telling them to search and posting wrong information:
p31 is the mercedes OPTION code
So the p31 option code includes various BUILD codes, which is the P30, 923 (more hp), etc you see in the vin decode. You will never see P31 on a VIN decode because it isn't a build code.
