How is the Burmester sound system?
He seems to take a very scientific approach to it. He doesn't make changes based on gut feel, he takes a lot of measurements. Very impressive. He's also the one I referred to earlier who pointed out that there's no real Burmester components.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The woofers have inadequate inpute,
Quaternary crossovers and there are zero sub woofers. The much taunted failed under powered non existence subwoofer doesn't exist. What a waste of wire.
What triple circuit amplifier with dedicated subwoofer circuit will turn this manatee inti a mermaid.?
the stock Burmester system in comparison to my old BMW's is pretty below par tho.
What sort of amp are you using and are you including the 6" woofers in the circuit?
I don't have the expertise to re do the entire equalizer for the system.
Not to sure exactly how this is setup but amp and subs are added to the system with floor woofers left to run off factory amp.
No changes have been made to the factory speakers.
Ive turned down the bass on the factory settings to zero leaving the bass to come from the twin JL Audio 13.5" subs.
A sub controller has been added so bass can be turned up and down from the drivers seat.
A sub or two makes a world of difference.

For my wife's C63S, I spent time analyzing the excellent write up above on the system. I also had a few lengthy road trips alone with the sedan, and really felt the overall sound was quite good, but seriously lacking the bump in the trunk to get things more balanced.
Here is the list of my components. Fairly simple to get a good signal from the factory system, good amplication, and a strong sub. I chose the JL 12W7 because I knew I would spend time in the car, and my desired bass level was much higher then my wife's. With the sub control knob in the center console, we can easily set the level to our desired listening level. You can go with a lower end sub, with a smaller box, and still get some good bass going.
As a result I was referred to a guy that does the custom installs for the Alpine demo cars heat in Brisbane...
Everything was custom done and he did an awesome job in design to the extent that each quarter panel box is locked into place by the custom parcel shelf cover.
I've had this done for quite a while now and no rattles from the boot, its all tightly fitted, can't say the same for the actual build of the car though....Mercedes....AMG!!!
There is that "front bass" system but is that powered or passive?
Some dealers defer mods to Mercedes.
Any help in S Florida?
"The Fix 82 converts the powered speaker level signal back down to low voltage (line level). It digitizes the signal, removes the factory equalization, time correction and VNC and outputs flat 2 channel stereo via a single fiber optic Toslink cable to the Prima."
Audison Prima 8.9 DSP Amp OEM Integration Unit
12" JL Audio sub in trunk
Audison 540 Watt mono amp for the sub
Nothing else was touched
With the above we still could not get any bass. Long story short it turned out that there really isn't any bass signal coming out of the Burmester DSP so you have to "fake a bass". My wife's Ranger Rover Sport had the exact same issue. The solution:
