Did you get the traction issue resolved????

Not sure what the traction up date was but I was getting wheel spin a very low speeds ie 5mph when pulling out of junction's while turning with small throttle input, so will have to see if that is better. The gear selection was much better and no jerking in S+ when changing down, sound was just as good as before as I would get the pops, crackles & burbles when changing down from 3-2 in sports + and when lifting off the gas.

Not sure yet has not spun up yet but have to wait and see only drove it a couple of times since pick up and only a few miles so time will tell. On wheel spin when driving back from garage but not too many corners were you stop and go.

Mine had a pre 2016 build
date and no updates after that but since they did this update I have a noticeable difference particularly in Spot+ and race mode.

It sounds like it's not if a car had a build date prior to 12/2016 where there is an issue but that any car that had the "previous updates" unexpectedly had a decrease in their volume, and the current update fixes it back to where it would have been prior to that previous update. If you never had that previous update done and your car was built before that update existed, that would explain why some cars don't see that big of a difference or why certain cars wouldn't come up as needing it (ie. clueless dealers).

I guess I'm reading it like this. Say the prior update came out in Spring 2016 (I don't know the actual date, I'm just assuming a random date), the scenario would be as follows:

- Pre-Spring 2016 build date without any updates to the car since build --> Good exhaust sound (new update won't make much of a difference)
- Pre-Spring build date but had software updated prior to the current update --> Quieter exhaust sound, needs current update to reset sound
- Spring 2016 through 12/2016 build date --> Came from factory with quieter exhaust, needs update
- Post-12/2016 build date --> No need for update, has current software

I have no clue if this is correct or not, but reading the above quoted lines leads one to believe this is the case.

Most recent (and final) one is the one I posted here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...ml#post7146261. Its dated 3/21/17 (previous one was from 2016), and its labeled as Version 2. It also states that "Cleanpoint entered" which I *think* means its the final version (2016 version stated "Updated data status available" in the same place).

I was unsuccessful getting this done. Its weird how there are so many inconsistencies with this. I am going to meet with the AMG tech on Monday.

No update as yet.
I don't have any bulletin numbers they do not give you any paper work when warranty work is carried out including up dates. They just do the work and let you know what's been done the same as BMW do.

My dealer notes the bulletin numbers on the RO for tracking / detail purposes. The bulletin they applied was: LI07.08-P-065149

I have no idea if this includes the traction and tranny updates, as well.

After some back and forth, I've finally had the update done. The exhaust pops and bangs far more now. Thanks to everyone who helped!

What got them to do the update? Any insight? I am taking my car to the dealer again on Thursday.

I printed out the Xentry bulletin, told them what the update was for, told them that others in the U.K. had had it and not just in America, and then they agreed to look into it. Seems like they found it!

Which dealer did you use. Might be worth me contacting them as my dealer has no idea and says that the update doesnt exist

It was Lookers in Ashford, Kent. Ask for Steve or John in servicing.

i don't know why they are all being so difficult about it! All they need to do is search the reference from the bulletin and they'll find it.

Do you mind posting or adding more details, maybe a screen of your repair order? I am in the US and want to go with as much information to the dealer as possible.

I'm afraid that's as much detail as I have! I took the version 2 of the Xentry bulletin posted earlier in the thread and then spent a phone call arguing with them to even look into it, then brought them the bulletin for them to see as proof. I didn't get any kind of repair order, just a verbal, "it's done". I don't know why they put up so much of a fight instead of simply searching the bulletin number, but if you keep on at it with them and show them the bulletin, they'll have to do it eventually!

I just had this done on my 4/2016 build 2 days ago. Just made an appt and brought the Xentry bulletin with me. No problems or hassles. Updated the navi maps as well. Definitely fixes the lost popping sounds. I'm in Houston, TX.

I had this done last Thursday by my dealer (just brought in the Xentry). My SA hadn't heard of this (and was quite surprised it existed) and confirmed he could do the update. They also ran ECU/Trans updates, which seems like a requirement for the exhaust software in my particular case.

I spent the weekend driving the car with the update and man what a difference. If you thought your overrun cracks and pops were loud before well... prepare yourself. We're talking gunshot loud now.

The two biggest improvements are when revving in neutral and when building boost/wide open throttle and letting off the gas abruptly. There are more pops and cracks when revving in neutral and they sound more violent - and more frequent as well (I only need to rev to 3500 or so rpm and get 4 crazy loud pops, whereas before I had to rev to 4500 or so and it was only 2 pretty loud pops). When accelerating/building boost and letting off the throttle you now get these epic loud cracks. I was driving around in the Boston tunnel's and it sounded like a gun battle in there

For exactly zero dollars, it is absolutely worth the effort of getting the update done - which thanks to my service advisor was extremely easy! After he heard the exhaust update himself, he said he's going to tell all the other C63S owners about it.

Get it done

AlexZTuned, that sounds exciting.

I dropped my car off today (I've owned it for half a day, ha!) and the SA called to say they successfully applied the update. He did mention that the tech noted a definite increase in volume.

Excited to pick it it up tomorrow and check It out in person. Granted, I've only driven the car for 2 hours so far, but I sure could tell that it was way too quiet. Zero pops/burbles when letting off the gas or revving in neutral.

I'll report back with what I think sometime after tomorrow afternoon.

I finally got through and have booked in my car next Wednesday for the update. They kept pushing back until I sent the Xentry (thanks to who posted that).

Will update once it's done - figures crossed.

I don't know why some dealers are so resistant. Mine pushed back when I told them about the bulletin, even when I gave them the reference number. Instead of searching the number, they just said they hadn't heard of it. It was only when I emailed the document that they begrudgingly booked me in, and even then it was with skepticism. When I actually arrived for the appointment, I was served by a different service administrator than usual, even though the same guy has served us for all of our many warranty niggles, his name was on the file and he was in the building. In fact, I saw him and said hi and he mumbled something back and rushed away. Like, what?

I think because it isn't a mandatory update. It probably costs them time and effort to do the update with no real benefit to them.

I believe that is one of the main reasons.
