How long after “produced not shipped” does it typically take to get assigned a boat?
As far as I recall it seems to take a couple of weeks from 'produced not shipped' until it arrives at the port and gets assigned a vessel. You basically have at least two more statuses to go through. All depends on how many cars are ahead of yours. The factory in Bremen is about an hour from the port, so the cars have to be loaded on a train at the factory and transported to the port. I dropped mine off directly at the logistics company by the port.

+1... Yeah, that seems a bit strange. The Martorell is currently on the way to Bremerhaven. It came from Australia via South Africa and last call was in Spain. It's scheduled to arrive in Brussels on 7/4, and then I'm guessing Bremerhaven next before setting sail towards the West Coast calling at several ports in between I assume, but I don't think West Coast ships call at the East Coast, that would be a major detour, and it certainly takes more than 3 days to cross the Atlantic from the North Sea. Their general course is the Panama Channel, so they'll sail way south of the East Coast.

I just looked again. The port is Brunswick Georgia, not Baltimore.

I guess we both will be watching the route of the ship closely!!!

Mine came in last week, I've been loving driving it. Still getting used to the Command system coming from an Audi but it drives great. Very happy with the color combination of the Polar white, Night Package, Black Wheels and rear spoiler. Its worth the wait!

alas, i don't think i'm going to make this boat... at least, nothing listed in my netstar events associated to ship assignment...which begs the question, when/how did you guys know your ship was going on the martorell? did it say in netstar, or did someone in germany tell you specifically? wondering when netstar actually updates with this info (i.e. maybe there's still hope it will get on the ship tomorrow)?

Keeping my fingers crossed that yours and mine get aboard this ship. I haven't heard anything yet from my salesperson. I wonder how often a ship leaves with a destination of the west coast. Might be an excruciatingly long wait for the next one.

Yeah next stop should be Bremerhaven. I believe Netstar does list the vessel, but I got the info from BLG, which is the logistics company that handles the shipping on behalf of MB. There's another company called IFF that handles customs proceedings. With ED you are actually getting more insight into the shipping. I can login to the BLG portal and see the status of my car and IFF will keep me posted when the car clears Customs. Once at the VPC the dealership can track it again, but not before.
