I love that it looks so professional. Like if you didn't know the motor, it could have come from the factory that way.

Good taste inside and out. I hope I'm in a position to buy when you're ready to move on.

It does look good, doesn't it? Something to be proud of.

I notice it says Eurocharged on the engine cover, rather than Speedriven!

Glad you you're enjoying it, Laser. Quick question, how did the plumb the intake air? and where are the air filters located?

Thanks,

-P.M.

Beautiful car man. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop with the process.

I wonder if it would hold some nitrous on top of the current setup?

Well Marcin at SpeeDriven has been just great even after the fact. He looked at my dyno curves and has some suggestions we will try out to allow for more power. Jerry at Eurocharged has always been up on my calls and kept me well informed. He has been working with Marcin and they have really sone well together to get my car going properly and also keeping the car safe so I can really beat on it and it stay together. I have made several high speed runs and several LONG burnouts and they car really seems to do well.
Love its dual personality because she is such a tame beast if you dont mash on the right pedal and even rewarded me with 16.2 MPH if I stay at 85ish. Heck even at a steady 115 it still does over 14MPG.

I am really enjoying the car though and its nice to remember why I bought it. I also question why I bought such a high end stereo for it. While it does not have the sheer grunt my Denali has its still a very clean and loud system that really could just get away with better subs. lol

Ill still throw in all my goodies though. lol

Glad to hear you are finally getting to enjoy the car.

A lot of people wondered why I was going to change out the system in my car since the factory stereo sounded decent already. I just said I wanted a back up camera, lol. My new setup sounds incredible compared to the stock stereo and now it has better SQ and also plays LOUD! A lot more work to put a system in the CL than a Mustang though!

Hope your car continues to please.

If you held a steady 115 around here, I'm pretty sure you would not pass go, and you would not collect $200.

So I have learned the killer chiller is quite efficient. If I am just cruising on the highway for 30 or so miles out of boost and with the AC blasting and then get on it after I get off the highway right away the boost spikes and the engine freaks out and runs like crap till i shut it down and restart. It will show a missfire on all 12 cylinders. Its done this twice now after a long highway drive and then punching it after coming off a stop light. Both times the inter-coolers were frozen. Like actual frost on them. So yeah, one hell of a system. lol

You're using it with or without an auxiliary tank?

With an aux tank. Its cold enough to keep your beer ice cold. I opened it up and reached my hand inside and felt like I stuck my hand into a snow bank.

Sounds like the tuning is still off or do you think this is somehow related to your Killer Chiller.

Tuning is still off but this particular problem is just because of the killer chillers over efficiency. I need to pass more cars on the highway or not keep my AC so cold. lol

Why do you believe the boost spike and misfires are related to a frosted IC?

Because the first time it happened was after a very long highway drive and then I got on it to show it off to someone and it triggered the CEL and missfired and ran like crap with no power till I pulled over. I opened the hood and saw the intercoolers were frosted. Checked the rear tank and it to was frosty. Scanned it with my Autel and it showed overboost as well as a missfire on 10 of the cylinders. This time I watched the boost gauge and saw it spike to 27psi before the controller could react. Its set to shut the turbos down at 20 psi. Checked everything and same conditions, frozen intercoolers and scanner saying overboost and missfire.
Now mind you this is after I had already spent the day making a dozen 40-200MPH pulls and then spent several hours at the drag strip where the car was dead nuts consistent on the track and the boost held pretty rock steady at 17.9psi during the 200mph pulls. Also during that time the car never had time to frost the intercoolers and never showed anything more than a 20psi spike at gear change or initial WOT as the turbos spooled.
These Indy turbos spool amazingly quick. Much faster than the OEM turbos and they are 60mm so they have significantly more CFM.

Now once on the dyno I commanded the turbos to 21PSI and we got a multiple missfire and figured the turbos were blowing out the spark so we turned them down and have not had the issue since. Speaking with SpeeDriven and Eurocharged and they both agree we need to close the gap a little on the plugs.

I will be running the car again at the track this Friday as I found the sweet spot for the drag radials and will try and launch it loaded up this time instead of off idle. Get some hard times and then bring it back to Eurocharged as Jerry has some ideas he wants to try to get the car where it should be which is deep into the 10's. Right now launching off idle with a 1.8 60' the car runs 11.44 at 124 like clockwork. Run after run after run it pulled nearly identical numbers. I think loading it up and getting a 1.6 60' that the car can pull an 11.1ish as I bumped the boost a tad where it was at 17 flat its now just kissing 18 and is pulling much better after 80 where it used to feel down about 80-100hp from 80-140 and then pick back up again after 140 and pull like a freight train to 200. This is with no boost drop mind you so we are assuming the car is partially closing the throttle body in this area and are gonna try some more tuning to get around it.

If I can get the car to run mid 10's I will be a happy camper. I know it wont do single digits like a couple W215s have due to the massive weight difference and the fact I weigh just over 300lbs myself. This time I also plan on keeping it below a half tank where I was nearly full before.

I think it's a tune issue rather than such a cold IAT. Mine doesn't do that and I've got a killer Chiller and have had my I/C's so iced over I couldn't scrape through it with a fingernail. My IAT's drop in to the 40's with ambient in the 70's when I launch at the track. Still, you should be able to go WOT with IAT's even below that, must be that boost spike. Only time my car is on the highway for more than 20 miles is on the way to the track, and then my wife is driving so I will have to take a road trip and see if it drops the IAT's even lower.

I was seeing 50* IATs at 88* ambient without issue. I didnt have the Autel hooked up to see what the IATs were when it had that boost spike/flame out but knew they were much less due to the frost on the coolers. Now it may very well be the tune as we know my tune has issues but this one particular issue I think is due to a combo of super low IATs and turbos that are WAY more efficient. I have heard by more than a few turbo specialty guys now that these turbos are just nuts in their efficiency. I dont know, I build domestic cars and a turbo that spools like that is a plus and we just put in larger injectors/pump and tune it and let them sing at 27psi. The Benz on the other hand wants to be really judgmental about them.

Judgmental is such an appropriate term I almost had coffee coming out my nose.
