I guess they had to, given the flat plane. I guess this is going to be the improved version to the "Real Performance Sound" they had for years?

Here are two interesting videos. Granted these are European spec Black Series, but some interesting points they bring up. The exhaust from the cats back has practically no silencing. It's pretty much just straight pipes. In the second video they completely removed the exhaust from the cats back and it practically made no difference. In the first video OPUS replaced the downpipes and cats. Still has the OPF being a European spec car, but listening to it, it mainly increased the volume. The sound itself is still fairly flat, which is due to the flat-plane crank as he said. No exhaust modification is gonna change that.

That's good enough and I'm sure interested people will adopt it with open arms unlike the now abandoned I4/P3 alternative

If it's anything to go by the upcoming and much revered C8 ZR1 will basically have the same/similar exhaust note and also the TT FPL V8 is a common trait many with Ferrari's etc. that've been around for a long time.

New Lamborghini V8 has a flat plane crank. It's what the cool kids are doing these days.

Yes, but with an important difference. Revs to 10,000 rpm. That's when these engines sing and tingle your spine. High revving V8, V10 and V12 are a thing of beauty. Not sure if you ever driven one.

So they gonna copy Hyundai and add fake engine noise and fake transmission shifting to the upcoming AMG BEVs. Not sure what I think of that, other than they are all starting to admit that EVs are boring at this level. So now they are trying to turn them into driving sim rigs. This 180 and all is all a bit funny. It's not like we didn't see this coming. Tobias Moers supposedly stormed out of the boardroom when the decision to go 4-cylinder was made and then later resigned. He certainly knew it wasn't going to work out. Know your audience. Interestingly, he is now co-CEO of Piëch Automotive working on a 1000-HP electric GT, but you don't hear much on that. Probably doomed as well.

And surprisingly people is willing to pay a lot of money for it….

Honestly do not understand how can you just say -oh great as long as we getting the V8 back, do not care about the sound…

Maybe I am so AMG guy hahahaha

Damn, that sounds pretty sad. C8 Z06 and Shelby GT350 developed proper stock exhausts at 1/3 the price of a GT Black Series. What happens when you have poor leadership at the top of the company and you lose Lewis Hamilton.

The CLE 63 better start under 6 figures, no one is going to pay 140K for a V8 that sounds worse than a VW Golf. Needing to pump in the old fake V8 sound is not solving issues that the current C63 S E Performance has. It's not even a band-aid solution, more like the cut just stopped bleeding cause we been waiting so freaking long.

Well, if it holds, then glad to see a V8 back under the hood. However, coming from a W204 C63 with a naturally aspirated V8 and proper exhaust note, that clip does not sound like a V8 AMG that I am familiar with. Will have to wait for the final product if, and when it comes out. Times have changed and I'm a little stuck in the past......

It's been a while without any recent significant updates for the CLE63 and it still looks like being a long way away from coming, but this is an entertaining recent vid - albeit (spoiler alert) it's a bit of a hoaxed up CLE63 prototype.
Would be awesome if the eventual production car gets larger pumped out fenders like this thing though.

Interesting, I mean the CLE 53 already have a wide stance. Will be cool to see how much wider can they make the CLE 63 without looking awkward.

Update article.
We all know that the upcoming CLE63 will feature a new MH FPC V8 is old news, but I'll take and read any new update as it's been too quiet lately regarding this model.
Finally someone who's bothered to stick their nose underneath one of the prototypes and see what there is

This is just a fabricated render but I hope this new upcoming models trend of using the MB logo star design in the head and tail lights does not happen on the CLE...

The CLE came out not too long ago, was it 2024? or was it 2025? model year so facelift won't be soon, if the CLE 63 is available as a pre-facelift, it won't get these headlights... yet.

2024.
Judging by the no show of the CLE63 at end of last year and up until now, it looks like it won't come to market until the mid cycle update circa 2027.
If that's the case the head & tail light internal signatures will change and possibly have that MB star incorporated, it's featuring on all the new models I've seen so far like the CLA and 4 door GT.
One update I'm keen on and hopefully comes to the CLE mid life update are the flush door handles which are also now being put onto all new models or updates.

Why? Do you have some flush door handles on a vehicle now? If so, how do they work?

I am curious (not in an aggressive manner, just literally curious) because I am still meh about them. They look cool, but not sure how functional they actually would be when using them.

Good question It's my personal preference based on recently spending a lot of seat time in the new GT63 (this one pictured) and comparison with the current pull handles, they also make the car look sleeker.
Obviously they are more complicated and may present with operational longevity issues long term, but I still like them over any of the pull handles.

It does look sleeker not going to lie but I kept hearing reports of it not popping out or even closing (snapping close on your finger) on the forums, I also seen reviews of youtubers not too happy with it either.

I see, that makes sense. As for the design, yes it does seem like they may be considering in putting those type of headlights and taillights on the mid-cycle refresh.

Makes total sense! That's a damn good looking GT63...they look perfectly in place on there.

The only problem I've seen some people with on these is the not popping out problem, but that's in cases where they were not used properly, i.e. you need to slide your finger/hand over the length of them and then they work all the time at least that was the case for me having driven and played around with that particular GT for some time. I've seen youTube vids where the person has just touched rather than sliding over the handle and they it did not respond. Never seen or heard of anyone having their fingers snapped - Have heard and seen of that problem though being quite common with the 992 generation 911 door handles. They work differently though where they don't pop out, they fold upwards a lot like the older car flush door handles except on the older cars they are fully manual not automatic, I own 3 older cars with that type of pull up flush door handles (one pictured) and maybe that's also the reason I prefer the flush style on the GT and all other new Mercs

Your not wrong, this new C192 GT is sexy "AF" it's so good looking pretty much from any angle.
However it needs to be seen IRL pics and vids do not do it justice.
I'm all for the AMG CLE coupe but the GT is something else and grabs all the attention and regarding the flush door handles I completely agree it's the perfect fit on it.

I miss the SLS Gullwing flush handles, those are much simpler and you don't have to learn to use the handle and it achieves the same aerodynamic efficiency MB is hoping to achieve. That said, glad you mastered the technique to operate these new handles.

not the CLE 63 but looks like MB is putting a second "Mythos" model in the lineup, it will likely have a V8: https://mbworld.org/how-tos/slidesho...-power-1003488 I am reminded by the Black Series, I don't know if it will be a successor to a C Black Series or CLK Black Series but will be interesting how MB places this mythos model.
