Need your expertise!!!!
Just had a rattling start in my car CLK430 a couple of weeks ago...YEAH the damn catalytic converter. The STEALERSHIP quoted me $2900 for the fix without labor!!!! These ah's should be given a beating...
Anyways...I checked alot of the old threads but I still have some questions to determine whsat course to follow so here goes:
1. What exhaust system would you recommend?
2. Does this system include catalytic converters and resonator?
3. Can I just eliminate the the cat converter and put a straight pipe? What if I eliminate 2 converters instead of all 4?
4. Should I replace the cat converter with a high flow aftermarket? How many would I need 1 or 4?
5. What is the diameter of the piping in a stock CLK430? Should I increase the size 1/4-1/2"?
6. Where can I get OEM parts for mercedes at a good price since OEMPARTSDIRECT seems to not be available?
7. Any other recommendation is welcome

Anyways...I checked alot of the old threads but I still have some questions to determine whsat course to follow so here goes:
1. What exhaust system would you recommend? My first pick would be the one I just sold Eisenman Race!! Next choice would be a custom magnaflow
2. Does this system include catalytic converters and resonator? No cats and resonator will never be included with the purchase of an exhaust unless you buy it specifically made like that.
3. Can I just eliminate the the cat converter and put a straight pipe? What if I eliminate 2 converters instead of all 4?You can elimiate it of course BUT...you will probabyly fail your emissions test and almost certainly fail your visual emissions test when they get underneath to check.
4. Should I replace the cat converter with a high flow aftermarket? YES How many would I need 1 or 4? If replacing with a higher flowing one then replace all 4
5. What is the diameter of the piping in a stock CLK430? Should I increase the size 1/4-1/2"? ?? Someone please help me out here
6. Where can I get OEM parts for mercedes at a good price since OEMPARTSDIRECT seems to not be available? I need this info as well
7. Any other recommendation is welcome
