Blackbenzz Headlight Intake Setup

Hey,

I am interested in the intake setup Blackbenzz has. I was wondering if it took a long time to customize and how are the gains? How much horse power and torque did you increase by? What type of modification do I need to do in order to get the high beams to work? Are you using an HID kit? Did your mpg increase and by how much? Can you drive the car in the rain? Has anything gotten in the intake holes when driving? Finally, how much did the whole project cost in the end and is it a do it your self project or do i need my mechanic to do this type of setup for me?

Thanks,
Steve

P.S. Can you attach pictures please?

Yes, my car is stock. What type of intake setup would you recommend for a stock CLK430?

Thanks
Steve

i believe the w208 and w210 amg airboxes are the same, so both work.

Yeah, Blackbenzz's car is super modded. Kleemann charger, etc. That alone makes the hp/tq improvements unrelated. You would probably need an engine looking for LOTS of air and LOTS of exhaust to need that type of setup. Very high output engine.

+1. The intake setup I have on my car would be overkill on an otherwise stock car.

Stock throttle body is 72mm and I am custom fitting a 82mm throttle body (using CNC machine to make bracket) along with porting the sc inlet to match and getting all bigger piping made for the intake in cluding a 85mm MAF. No clue how this is going to end up but it has been alot of custom work. Unfortunately the headlight intake will have to go One of my favorite designs for the car too. Btw, I had a major boost leak last time I went to the track, that has been fixed and if everything works as planned the car should fly!

Ok, I will let you know what I end up doing. If people really want these headlights I guess I could start modifying and selling them

Might be a good idea. It'll help pay for some of your go fast parts.

The only issue I see is people have different airboxes. I guess I could just sell the modified headlights and leave the rest up to the end user. I can probably do a before/after dyno but my car would not be indicative of the average client and the gains would be exaggerated. Then everyone would be pissed why they dont see the same gains.

If anyone wants me to modify the headlights for them I can do it. I guess I will make them as people request/pay for them. And I can probably do it with any style headlight you like. Mine are the black non cheesegrater ones. Post up or pm me if you want a set. It would be cool if people could dyno before/after too but I will tell you that most of the gains wont be seen on the dyno since the air needs to be forced in through the headlight to see most of the gains. Maybe place fans in front of the holes

Your car is faster than the speed of light, so high beams only make the road behind you brighter.

I would have to look at a headlight first to see if it's feasible. The process is the same, I just have to make sure I can seal the headlight properly to avoid condensation! Most likely, I can do the W209 as well.
