Engine & Transmission Mounts
Car has been vibrating really bad for the past year or so, especially after putting on new v6 Ghost Headers and the Evo Pulley kit a year ago. Thought my car was vibrating due to the fact of all the extra horse power when actually all I needed to do was change out my Engine Mounts, shop also recommended I replace the transmission one as well. Car was vibrating so bad some girls stated my car feels like a vibrator, I mean massage chair. This replacement cost me $550 in Japan but the car sits so still now I don't even know it's running. Also strangely enough my car feels like it has more HP

Cool. Given what you've done to improve performance to this point I will look forward to see how it turns out. On another issue, did you replace the motor mounts with the w208's or the 209s. I remember reading many moons ago that the 209s were applicable and superior to the 208 mounts.

Cool. Given what you've done to improve performance to this point I will look forward to see how it turns out. On another issue, did you replace the motor mounts with the w208's or the 209s. I remember reading many moons ago that the 209s were applicable and superior to the 208 mounts.

Yes Mel. There was a thread that talked about the issue at length and I do remember reading the 209s were a better product. I suppose you could cross reference the part numbers at the dealership. Same as if you wanted spring pads, reference the E model part numbers.

2004 E55 AMG, 2008 G55 AMG
Does anyone know if the 320 w209 motor mounts will fit the 320 w208??? I have been researching and have not found anything to give me a for sure answer. I know they will fit for the 430 and 55 but nothing says for sure on the 320. I looked at pictures and they look similar. Any help is appreciated.

I have been searching!!! Nothing says anything in concrete about the 320. They only say they are a match for the 430 and 55 motors. I could not find anything that says the 320 209 mounts WILL work for the 320 208. I would not ask a question if I had not already searched for the answer. I was not able to locate anything that made me comfortable enough to buy 209 320 mounts for my 208 320. Otherwise I would have made the purchase and not even had asked the question. I guess I will go to the dealer and have them bring down a 208 320 mount and 209 320 mount and compare the that way?? Sounds like the best way for me..

If you'll pay postage, I'll ship you my old V8 mounts. Once you have those greasy, oil encrusted, hazmat-certified mounts in your hand, it should take about 90 minutes to see if a pair of 430 mounts fit a 320. If they do, then V8 W209 mounts should too.
Yes, this means you'll have to do the motor mount job twice. But hey, think of the benefits for the 320 faithful.
No huh? That's the problem with SoCal - winter here means the temps are such that girls wear shorts rather than bikinis. We need someone with a CLK who's holed up for the winter. Anyone out there with a heated garage from Minnesota? Up state NY? How about Canada?
