help with egr valve on 99 clk430

Can someone please help me. My service engine light came on so ran test and got P0400. Was going to try cleaning out egr tube before replacing egr valve, but I have no idea where to begin. Where is it located, what all do I have to take apart, how should I clean it? Do I have to take the valve off? And if I do is there a gasket that I have to replace or can I reuse the one that's there? Does anyone have some pictures or video I can look at? I really don't want to take it to a garage if it is something that I can do myself, but I have to do something in the next few days as it is getting worse. Sometimes it stalls and I can't get it started. I've searched the forum for an answer but there are so many pages to go through, if there is already an answer if you can link me to it that would be great.
Thanks for any help I can get!!!

checked p0400

Yes I did and found a thread regarding the problem but it didn't have a solution even though a couple of people asked the same question. I'm pretty sure I just need to clean the tube, but I don't know where the thing is located or how to clean it. My husband was against my getting this car... I traded my pickup straight up. He said it would be an expensive repair every time something goes wrong so that's why I am trying to fix the problem myself, local garage wants over $300.

ok guys need your help

I found the egr valve and tube. I was able to remove the valve and clean it out, but how in the heck do you get the tube out of the block? I tried everything, it seems like there is a bend in it and I couldn't get the angle to get it out? The valve was disgustingly dirty so I know the tube is too.
I really need to know how because the car stalls when idling and sometimes it won't start unless it sits for awhile, which isn't a good thing when you are stopped at a busy intersection.

Egr line/ vavle

You, You can delete it, but you'll be better off replacing the vavle. Clean the EGR hoses (line) out with carb cleaner, while not trying to bend it much by letting it stay in its nature State (the shape it came out). Check on fleabay for the EGR part, dealership will be expensive and your local advance auto,
O’Reilly , and auto zone which can run $120.00 and up!
The get EGR line alone is 90+ dollars, but as I said clean it out, but you can go to auto part store above and get the vacuum lines which run about $1/2 per linear feet, and replace old tattered lines. I'm stating this from FACTS because I did it on my W211 and have not had any CELs since! My Indy wanted $500.00 parts and labor, total cost to me was $80.00 for ERG and 1 hour of my time! GL
