2001 CLK430 Cabriolet
Idling High. Lurching in gear.
I had a new bumper put on my 2001 clk 430, this past weekend and upon return of my car i noticed the outside temp gauge was not re installed correctly and reading 136,after fixing this problem i now notice that i'm idling much higher than normal, Around 1,100 in park. Also when ever i put it in gear the rpm dives to about 400-500 and then soars up too 1,600 then back to around 1,000. Causing the car to lurch forward/back if my foot is not placed firmly on the brake.
Does anyone know what i may be able to do to solve this problem?

I have the same problem here.
The idle is around 1100 at parking and around 800-900 at D with full brake.
The car would automatically accelerate from 1000 to 1500 when it is running without putting on the fuel pedal neither brake.
Please help

But I have changed the MAF and the problem goes on!
and I have cleaned the TB too.
How to check Vacuum leaks? seems its hard to trace the leaks by visual?
I have tried to find vacuum leaks but seems no leakages there!

problem solved.
Changed all the vacuum hose around the engine and throttle body.
Changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS)
Changed the MAP sensor (manifold air pressure sensor)
Changed the Throttle Body Ring.
Problem is solved finally!
