Help with Amg badge decision! Time to be Amg poser!

I wanna get the ///AMG trunk badge for my 430.....

Just kidding lol I don't agree with doing that. But I found a really nice flat hood emblem, but its an Amg one. Personally i think its supperrrrr nice but i wish it didnt say amg on it. I currently have the silver flat hood emblem but since it was so faded from the sun, I wanna replace it and stumbled across this one. My question is will I look like a poser to u guys, im in the process of grabbin an Amg airbox and when my brakes are done, I'm repLacing them with the c32 Amg brakes n calipers. So what do u guys think??are my little Amg add ons a good enough reason to rock this emblem or no?

Jbenz: thank you for your input bro, I do have the Amg kit and even my custom Amg styled front bumper from ash. U and togaclk55 are right if it's gonna make me happy I will just do it. Plus I have a bunch of other Amg parts too like my Amg tips, bumpers, airbox and even the brakes so I guess I'm gonna go for it! I'm still open to opinions tho so keep em comin! That emblem looks soooo good I can't resist it. Believe it or not I've been debating for a year(since my bday last November) and now that I've decided to keep my car I will do just that. Thanks fellas!

If you go to the Source i.e. Mercedes there is no such thing as a AMG 430, 320, etc. All AMG cars are represented with 2 digit numbers i.e. 73, 70, 65, 63, 55, 43, 36, 32.

http://www.mercedes-amg.com/#/vehicles

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-AMG

http://amgmarket.com/amg/the-history...mercedes-benz/

So technically it would be considered as being a poser..Just Say'n...Your choice.

This was the reason I removed all my AMG labels but again your choice.

Yeah I'm fully aware that there are no Amg 320s or 430s and that the amgs are the double digit#s that stand for how many liters the engine is which is why I was aski for opinions on whether I should get it or not bcuZ I love the way the hood badge looks, not trying to claim that I have an Amg or slap the trunk badge on.. Its Just so hard to resist such a sexy hood emblem lol

It is a good looking badge thought and I feel your pain to resist because it's trying to pull me in to get it as well. lol

It does match your car theme

Luckily I smoothed out my trunk and hood so there is no way I can put it on...lol

bro if you like it thats all that matters. i hate the word poser! if you like it just do it. all the 430s cme wih the full amg kit and wheels so if the word poser had any meaning or amg gave a crap they wouldnt put those parts on your car from the factory. take off any part of your factory body kit and run the part number and you see that it says amg. so screw it if you like it run it! certain clk430s (very imited were actually released with the amg floor mats but without the 55 stiching. back in the day amg was just like brabus when you installed the kit the emblem came withit. later when amg was purchased by mercedes they started running double digits for the motors that they engineered. running an amg emblem is not poser, running a 55 or 63 or 32 or 43 on a none amg motored car is a poser. Amg emblem is simply an austethic related just like brabus, the numbering is whats related to the motor. hope this helped you. those who bash on people for running an amg emblem simply have nothing better to do but talk crap. but if you run different numbers on the trunk than the motor that you have under the hood then i agree its poser.

Sweet thank u toga, jbenz, William and Ash for all the input. I wish my hood was smoothed out so I wouldn't have this dilemma but it looks like ima just go for it, I think it looks so nice so ima just pull the trigger n if I don't like it I'll swap it back to the old flat hood emblem. Thanks alot for taking the time to help me with my dilemma!

Brother Ash, back in the day was pre 1993 hence the "1992 190E 3.2 AMG" no? Seeing that Mercedes made this change after 1992 changing what represented AMG i.e. two digit numbers then anyone putting any labels on their cars which doesn't come from AMG Factory would be a misrepresentation of AMG. No?

I'm misrepresenting Mercedes because I debagged my ride. Some people don't even know what kind of car it is and some have thought it's a Toyota

In Japan if it has a AMG kit they put AMG on it regardless. In Japan it's actually cool to be a "Poser" you'll find BMWs and Mercedes mislabeled. If you go to a used car show room, you'll find a Mercedes labeled with a "55" but if you read the specs w/price in the window you'll find it's actually a 320. They'll do the same with BMW labeling a 740i as a 760i.

What's up boss. The delima he was having was should he get it even though his car was not an AMG. Of course it boils down to his choice which I respect but I was just providing information about the "AMG Poser" debate.

Hence my other post.

whatsup brother william707, yes you are correct back in 1993. the only thing that reprsents the AMG motor is the double digit engine numbering and in the later models the builders engine plate which has the name and the signature of the AMG master mechanic who build the engine, every engine has a different builders name and info. but the "AMG" emblem has ni representation of the amg built car. if you try ordering the emblems you see that the AMG trunk emblem seperate than the "CLK 55" because they have no relation to each other. again this is purly my opinion that the AMG emblem is not an indication of the AMG motor but the double digit numbering is. hope this helps.
