W208 vs W209 engine mounts
I have not seen this reported on this forum. I put the W209 engine mounts in place of the worn out W208 mounts and they helped a great deal as the old mounts were trashed. But I had a slight vibration though the wheel and door that would not go away. I changed most every thing you can think of over the past few months until I changed the motor mounts back to W208 OEMs. Vibration is gone, just an FYI.

I should clarify that the vibration only happened in drive at idle after the engine warmed up (idle is dropped down). Not a big thing but annoying.

I did the same change-out replacement 2 years ago, and have not had a problem. Might be that a mount was loose or not installed correctly. Who knows? These MB's are fickle mistresses. Glad that you squared away your prob.

I doubled checked the install and I'm pretty good with a wrench. I am idling around 550 rpm in drive which could be the difference, or like you said - fickle bit*^*^ in regards to vibrations

What's the best argument for going for W209 mounts? I guess I was considering that but OP's experience makes me hesitant. My GF who owns the car is verrrry sensitive to even the slightest vibrations at idle.

99CLK320,
FWIW: I have not replaced my mounts. I have change my intake to vipclk's cold air intake and I get some vibration/hum when the engine is idling low in gear at a stop sign. If you look at the throttle cable where it meets the braket before it attaches to the sending unit you can see where you can adjust the idle up and down by rotating the cable with a small wrench. 1/4 of a turn made all the difference to eliminate any vibration/hum that I experienced.

Any input on Deutsche Parts for motor mounts?
Hey guys...its been a while
Just looking for advice on vendors for motor/tranny mounts. I am aware of the W209 upgrade being far superior to the W208 mounts but looking to do all three since the tranny mount is pretty dead. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

clk320 and sl320 V6
I also have a slight tremor (vibration) every now and then at idle even though I changed the engine mounts with Lemfoerders a few months ago at 160 000kms.
My SL with the v6 motor idles beautifully - possibly because it has a different engine mount to the CLK.
CLK also idles at 550 when warm and the SL at 750.
The vib with the CLK320 seems to be a common concern on all the Merc forums.

Just my opinion, derived from the years and years of "CLK vibration" postings, coming from all corners.
CLK's vibrate, period.
Of my 13+ years of CLK ownership,
I've had about three that were vibration free.
The only way to get rid of your CLK's vibration, is to sell it, but then there will be night after night of weeping, and baleful laments, as you pine at the absence of that fickle, but beautiful, beast.
Hey, it's a CLK thing. You either love them, or you love them more.
Last week I was gassing up my 13 year old fickle beast, and a fellow in a pick up gave me a "nice car". I thanked him. Thirteen years, and she still turns heads.

Two adjacent cylinders, 7 and 8, fire in that order. I always thought that was odd and probably why the engine has a natural vibration. That said, the MB enngineers who designed the engine obviously know more than I do.
