I did a search for manuals

"Some" manuals on E-bag are virus spreading heaps of trash. On the other hand, I picked up a new WIS/EPC that runs under Windows 10 earlier this year and it's fantastic. The trick is to find a TRUSTED dealer mechanic who's stolen his employer's software and offered it for sale on E-bag. Looking at their reviews, which shows how long they've stealing, is a good way of determining how good a seller of stolen property they are.
All kidding aside, the dealers regularly get copies of the WIS. I don't know for a fact that mechanics or whomever aren't allowed to sell the old copies on Ebay. It's been going on for a very long time, so maybe it's OK - although MBUSA may frown on such activity. I've bought several copies of the WIS over the last 10 years and have only received ONE copy that was obviously a duplicate and had been burned. No, I did not install that copy.
Lastly, way back when, there was a guy who started a pay it forward campaign where he burned several copies of the WIS and mailed them (at his own expense) to several others. The idea was that whoever got a copy would burn at least two more copies and mail those to whoever asked. Eventually, EVERYONE would have a copy of the WIS. Since thousands of free copies of the WIS are floating around the globe, I guess you can see that didn't work out to well. That same guy has been known to give copies of the WIS to people, but he no longer believes in "pay it forward" campaigns.

The shop manual, I guess its a CD, its difficult to work on these cars with no information. Not cool to guess at the torque values and such, but I'll do what I gotta do.

I've never asked a dealer for a copy of the WIS. If they sell it, I suspect it may be a bit more pricey than the $15 ones on eBay. If you ask the dealership, let us know what price you're quoted.
I think you may ultimately find yourself buying the WIS on eBay or from someone on the forum.
