anyone paint their calipers red? DIY or professional...

Is the G2 kit the one with the base and clear coat, 2 step? After seeing a bunch of red calipers behind black wheels, I'm going to have to jump on the bandwagon too.

Yup...has the paint and reactor to ensure strong adhesion...works and looks great...only 6 hours max before paint hardens after you mix the paint and reactor...

Thanks for the info, guess it sounds like a good kit. I'll have to order some MB caliper decals too I guess.

I was just on their site and see they are available. I'm not putting AMG decals on my stock MB calipers, that's just setting one self up to get flamed on this board and rightfully so

I understood what you're say about the decals but I think we actually get the old AMG version of the C55 and Slk 55 calipers. Those calipers get AMG decals from factory.

Lol, am I the only one that didn't paint his own calipers? I had them done by my shop and I believe I paid $75-$100 a caliper for a 2 stage paint and clear with the Brembo logo.

No worries, I would have done the same thing if I were you. The brakes that you have are too nice to be potentially ruined by a DIY job.

Call your CC company and see if they could maybe dispute the charge.

I really want to paint mine but just don't know what color. I'm running the white and black theme and the red is a little too racer looking for me to do to my stock calipers. I have a 500 so they are the brembos but their not a bbk so I don't want to draw the attention to them as if they were. Any suggestions? I was thinking silver but was just looking at my car from a distance and think it would get lost with my rotors

You don't want to draw attention to them, so any bright colors are out. The only real options you have left are color match, black, or silver.

My silver OEM CLK500

Subtle but I think it works out great.

+1. In my opinion, you've got one of the nicest clean looking 209's on the board. Sometimes, as in your case, less is more.

Thats good info and combined with EuroTra$H's stellar job on his calipers, I'm going to have to re-think my decal options
