Hoping to get lucky that a fellow member at MBworld may have a "leftover" CLK550 AMG tips after upgrading to quad exhaust. If my observation is correct there had been several CLK550 upgraded to quads in past few months.

I have been looking daily for AMG tips in fleebay listings, craigslist and etc... other than those cheap asian imitations - nothing.

OK, anyone has a pair CLK550 dual tips, or 2 pairs of OVAL AMG dual tips from E/S/SL class (I think the sizes are similar)?

Aren't 550 tips welded on? I thought my tips sit a hair low, so I looked under to see what I could loosen to raise them, and the first non-welded joint is a flange several feet from the back of the car.

Pretty sure they are. Do you want to cut off the tips and sell them?

Tips wouldn't be too expensive, but I'd have to charge you for a good excuse to tell my wife - "You have to cut them off every 6 months and mail them out for adjustment."

I am sure you'll think of something convincing.
My wife thinks any MB AMG looks its best from the rear, especially with the quad exhaust. In other words, I am really doing this for her.

It's going to be hard to find 550 tips. Usually the 550 guys just buy 2 tips for the right side.

Dyno, are you suggesting that it's possible in my case to buy 2 tips for the right side to match up to the existing ones? Where?

Yup. Any AMG tips should be good, just not off the C-class.

Hmm, I tried googling "AMG exhaust tips" and the only matches were various MB forums or eBay listings. Are they websites that sell new ones? If I read you correctly, you seem to imply there are 2 types of oval AMG tips - (1) for C class and (2) for non-C class. All non-C class oval AMG tips likely have the same outlet size?

All the non C-class tips are pretty much the same size. They might differ by a couple of mm, but you wouldn't be able to tell. Parts.com sells them new, but they are $150 each and off the ML. I used one of these with 3 other tips I found off another member and you couldn't tell the difference.

I have two single AMG tips with mufflers from my CLS 500 for sale. If you just want the tips, I can cut them off. Interested? I can send pics.
