Engine mounts on CLK55

Ok about a couple weeks ago I found out the drivers side engine mount was leaking. I checked the mounts and it seemed ok also the car idles smooth. I do have the mounts ready to be installed. Should I wait until it gets rough? Car only has 38,600 miles. My warranty doesnt cover E-mounts.

Personally, I'd change the motor mounts sooner, rather than later. A bad mount allows the engine to transfer more stress to the trans mount. Not that trans mounts are expensive ($20 at Autohaus AZ), but the cost of putting off a job I know I have to do wouldn't be worth the extra work.

+1

Delaying maintenance or repairs on this or any MB can only add expense and aggravation in the long run.

What warranty do you have? I'll have to check my paperwork again - but I thought the MB Premium Extended Warranty would cover...

My Benz mechanic told me the exhaust has to be dropped to get to the mounts! Is this true?

I just got my car back today from having the motor mount replaced and the tranny mounts along with service B and trans. service. It feels like a brand new car. Definitely replace them if their leaking...

How much would you charge me Carl? My mechanic thinks I don't know **** about cars. But he is fair with the price compare to the stealership. The car rides smooth as butter still I just put Shell 93 and loves it. I usually put BP 93.

2004 CLK55
Just wondering, when the motor mount fails, is there just more motor vibration or can you here a sound also that it makes? My CLK55 has about 29,000 miles and is a 2004. I think I have a mount failing, because there is more of a thinging sound, that sounds like it is coming from the exhaust. But I only hear this after the car warms up.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Diy motor mounts also *****attn RK_CLK55

on benzworld.org w210 section diy motor mounts, almost the same procedure for your model.Or get the dvd from mbusa for the shop wis or alldatadiy.com
Ball joints yearly?

RK-CLK55 sounds like you have a cat gone bad, motor mounts when going or gone allow the engine to rock and you feel like it is an engine miss without a code being shown.Your sound is coming after engine warm up and that is when the cats fire off.Sound like a can full of pebbles getting shaken?
dealer will inspect and replace for free if the cat or cats have failed under the 8yr/80.000 mile warranty.
ohlord
always fix a failing mount if you know it's leaking even if she's not shaking
if you ever have one let go on the torque side of the engine with the hipo engines in your model, you will understandNot a fun ride

The car idles smooth with no vibration. Meaning I will hold off the replacement. Damn CLK55 still impresses me. I was merging into the highway today when it downshifted and the ESP got on at 40mph!
