CPS location for 2002 W208 CLK55
I have been trying to locate this piece without any luck. Have anyone ever replace CPS for the 55?
I found the reference to: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210...-pictures.html

After a while, I found it!
The CPS is much further back then the area I was looking at. It is between the engine and the firewall, mounted pointing downwards.
Basically I was following this wire which is the only naked wire without wire jacket and the smallest one (marked in red)
Using right hand and standing on the driver side, I was able to feel the lever to unhook the harness. For illustration purpose, I am using the brand new sensor, attach to the wire.
The lever (marked in yellow) is towards the center of the car. you need to push the lever and then pull it to unhook.
And here is the position of the sensor (marked in blue) and the wire (marked in red). Please note the location in relation to exhaust down pipe.
Next is to actually replace the sensor. I need the size 8 torx socket now

Let us know how it goes. If you see the last picture that I posted, there is a black wall covering the sensor. I am guessing the wall function is to protect the sensor against the heat from the exhaust pipe.
I can't get enough clearance within the walled area. I tried to remove the wall, which is mounted to the the transmission case (you need to use Torx E14 socket) and it was tight space and tight bolt. So removing the wall was not working for me.
At this point, I am ordering a tall E8 socket with 1/4 in drive.

T14? For some reason I thought it was T8. Anyway, yes thats a heat shield. I plan on using a torx socket on a 1/4 inch wobbly.
I've done this before on a friends E430, but not my CLK55. Good luck.

E14 is for the transmission torx bolt which holds the black wall.
E8 is for the CPS bolt.
I am waiting for E14 1/4" to arrive (both regular and deep sockets).
