Should have bought the 2018 model with full screen display 
From what i know, replacing the cluster is not plug and play. MB knows how to make it pretty complicated. Usually the part is programmed to VIN, so a replacement unit might need to be coded with SDS (Star Diagnostic System / STAR - you name it).

Hi was this ever successful done? Im looking to put a 2018+ cls instrument cluster into a 2014 cls, im not looking for “you should just buy a newer model or its going to cost alot of money” what exactly would i need to do? Does it even fit? Very interested in swapping out this instrument cluster for a newer one

now on retrofit, some cases need JUST programming, some need PROGRAMMING & SPECIAL ADAPTER HARNESS
for every case I need a request + vin

Is it possible to fit a fully Digital Cluster similar to that found on a 2020 C class? I’m asking for this specific car/style of cluster because it is shaped and curved like the shape of the cluster found in the Gen 2 CLS
needs renewing of used cluster and head unit and coding but also a $2000 adapter harness
so for your car I suggest you find out if someone did this before and what year/model cluster it was
then we can lookup, and verify if a special harness is required
but for sure we can code & renew it for you

Won't fit. I have a 2015 CLS and am very familiar with the W205. Instrument clusters are different sizes. Plus the software is incompatible.

No really doing much retrofit but as example it's possible to retrofit 2018 cluster in a 2014 W222 S class
