AMG GT S ceramic brakes retrofit parts list
I was disappointed that the Edition 1 came without ceramic brakes.
So I'm looking into retro fitting Ceramc brakes on my soon to be AMG GT S Editon 1.
My parts guy at Mercedes look up all parts need it to retrofit them.
This is not an official list from Mercedes, and my parts guy also told me that the ABS unit is also different and might need to be code to the car and that might be a problem.
Also the cost of the parts without labor is about 19K.

I believe the brakes are made by Brembo and just the other day I asked Brembo somewhat related questions:
1) if they make a conversion kit to swap out ceramics for steel,
2) replacement steel rotors for the stock steel, and
3) replacement rotors for the stock ceramics.
They said they make no replacement parts at this time for the AMG GTS. I wanted to order the ceramics and then swap them out for steel and was disappointed that it wasn't an option at this time at least from Brembo.

Just order the car with steel brakes.

I plan on tracking the day 10-12 times a year. My experience with Porsche ceramics is that they will last a few years if you are not hard on the brakes but they are not as good as steel with race pads on the track. I am assuming to find the same with the MB ceramics.
The secondary reason is that the initial cost of $8950 is a bargain when you consider 1) reducing the unsprung weight and optimizing the performance of the suspension and 2) improving the initial bite and reducing fade of the brakes.

Instead RacingBrake offers a 100% direct bolt-on installation replacement. The conversion can be DIY.

We are looking for a GT-S owner lives in Orange County so we can check the spindle measurement for making the CCM brake kits.

We just received the rear spindle from MB dealer with front spindle expected in next week.
So by the end of next week we shall finish the CCM rotor kit design. The rear is a 360x26 rotor with single pot floating caliper.

It's limited to factory's elctro-mechanical parking brake, unlike traditional drum brake.
So our CCM rotor upgrade offer will retain the use of OE calipers (front and rear) w/o impairing the integrity of OE brake system but also to keep the cost down.
Analysis and measurement on OE brake is done and we shall have the rotor design up by next week.
Anyone interested in this Iron to CCM rotor conversion can PM us for a special introductory pricing.

We only make the complete rotor assembly (no replacement rings).
The rotor kits are up for purchase. Front available in stock, rear 6-8 weeks.

Weight saving: front 3 lbs; rear 7.5 lbs per rotor.
Total 21 lbs for four corners.

Front and rear CCM rotors are duly assembled. The kit will also come with SS brake lines and OE CCM brake pads.
An easy swap to OE iron rotors and save tons of unsprung weight to vastly improve your driving quality & literally dust free wheels, while keep your OE iron brakes as a spare.
Front rotor: 13.9 lbs (vs. OE's 31 lbs) Saves 17.1 lbs/rotor
Rear rotor: 9.2 lbs (vs. OE's 23 lbs) Saves 13.8 lbs/rotor
Total weight saving for four corners: 61.8 lbs

What about just ceramic pads for less brake dust. Leaving the stock rotors non ceramic.
What options are there?
My GTS is a brake dust magnet almost as bad as my range rover.

Brake dust is a combination of pad and rotor, so just changing the pad compound could improve the dusting situation but can not alleviate the situation.
CCM rotors not only can alleviate the brake dust, but will also drastically improve your driving comfort and overall handling fro the massive weight redution.

Just want to add some benefit of this conversion kit vs. CCB kit comes from OE:
These are much stronger and durable rotors than OE.
Rotors fit under 19" wheels which means lower maintenance cost on tire replacement.
The replacement brake pads are also cheaper than OE CCM pads.
These RB CCM rotor rings are re-furbishable at a cost lower than iron rotor ring replacement, although you probably don't need that service if for street driving.
Rotors are fully interchangeable with stock iron rotors, so you can swap them as you see need unlike OE CCB you are stuck with CCM rotors set up.
Full after-service by RacingBrake by our knowledgeable stuff, and CCM components inventory in Southern California with 30 years in brake business.
