Take your car to your dealer. There is a depreciating warranty on the battery which, as you may already know is pricey.
My AMG mechanic once told me the battery was a $1,700.00 item and to be sure and put the charger on it when I stored the car through the winter months.
The LI batteries do have to be charged when they sit, they can discharge pretty badly after a couple months.
There is a reset procedure for the charging system, the vehicle saves a charge throughput value for the battery and tailors the charging profile of the alternator to match, it can charge a new battery more aggressively than an older one, so it may not keep the new battery as close to 100% if it doesn't know it's new. On a very new car the value is still going to be quite low, so it would hardly make a difference if it wasn't reset.

so just changing out the battery with the proper one should not hurt a thing then ??
not sure myself !! just think the want to do the work themselves so the can charge me mucho bucks . think they may be trying to scare me into letting them put the new battery in with all that jarrgin i wrote about . i was just qouting what they told me kinda didnt get it either !! never heard of such a thing !!
