Getting a GTR Black Series...
I didn’t understand a word they were saying but the motor sounded ”sweet.”
Time to check the build status of yours. If it’s built, I’ll guess 2nd week of March at the Brunswick VPC AND 4/1 ish delivery.
BTW: I’ll be seein Aaron this weekend. If he hasn’t called I’ll nudge him.
Best regards

He said exactly the kind of nonsense youtubers always say and that you can imagine him saying, so basically nothing of value.

But the car is so epic it made up for it ... honestly I'm happy just staring at the vid still before I even press play, that matte graphite looks so secsie at dusk.
I'll swing by the dealer tomorrow to check on build status ... I haven't heard from Aaron yet but it's fine, you've done enough on that front and I'm very appreciative.
Dan Fields the owner of all of the Fields dealerships has been down at the dealership all week. So he may not have any free time yet. We’ll see.
I’ll update you over the weekend.

ETA: I would be so pissed if this guy was my sales person ... he's touching stuff like it's a Versa.

GMK is a french youtuber targeting a young audience, like another one named Akram. So what he is saying is total nonsense; you're better off not understanding what he is saying.
I checked on my own black series, and got delivery planned for July for myself in Geneva. Few weeks delay vs. What was originally planned, but nothing dramatic.

Exhaust and calipers are off interest.

Thinking about bookending the newest with the oldest.

I know there's another subforum on these but anyone wanna talk me out of it while we wait for our cars?

His take is that it is obviously an issue, but one that manifests very rarely, and usually on higher mileage cars than the one I'm looking at (18000). The car has zero issues in its history, I think the only warranty work was replacement of the 3rd brake light which is apparently super common on these because of some sort of known leak issue. His advice was to leave the engine alone. He said that it is incredibly rare that the engine grenades itself because of this and that most of the time when the problem occurs, you get a cel, you pull over, they tow you to the dealership, and do about the the same work that you would have done preemptively anyway.
The other aspect of this is a cost benefit analysis. As in I can get the car warrantied through safe-guard with like a $200 deductible for two years for $4500ish. That's not cheap (although that's the price I pay for the 458 for a year), so I could take the view that I'll buy the warranty and whatever happens happens, or I could take that money and do the bolt swap at the front end, but I don't feel like dishing out what would in essence be 10% of the price of the car to do both the bolt swap and buy the warranty.
If paint meter and other things check out tomorrow I'm going to be buying it so I need to decide what I want to do pretty quickly in this regard. Appreciate any info and input.
Two schools of thought on replacement. Heads off, gasket replacement or the one by one bolt exchange Which seemed to work for a lot of guys a few years back when I was into this thing. Regardless of method, this is THE glaring weakness in this car and as such, if I were buying and keeping over even more time, I would lean on preserving original engine and replace bolts, gaskets out and forego warranty.
2 Iconic BS bookends ......Go for it!
