Getting a GTR Black Series...
On my enthusiasm on hearing it, he said not to get my hopes for a delivery any time soon, he expects these cars to have a much, much longer "in production" status vs other AMGs.
“The plant has informed us that they are experiencing supply shortages and the vehicles have been delayed. We’ve been told “vehicles may not be shipped until Q2”. I will keep you informed as I receive more information.”

My build date is still showing 2/11 but it’s bound to be changed. Crossing fingers for early Q2 as opposed to June.

My bigger question is now whether production will bleed into 2022 whereas I previously understood all current GT model production would end in Dec 2021. The GT BS could end up being a unicorn if they don’t extend it.
I don't want to derail the thread too much cause I was just messing around as I'm jonesing for the magno BS ...
However to answer your question, this truck is on a whole different level from the Gen 2 Raptor, and I say that having loved that truck and beat on in off-road for over 10k miles.
A 6000lb truck that does 0-60 in 3.5 whilst being able to jump and off road like a Baja truck and ride like an 73 El dorado on the street whilst sounding like an evil monster and with more whining than a confederate widow? Yes it is epic in every way possible!
It is by all measures a ridiculous thing, and I'm just glad to still be able to buy such a thing cause I don't think they'll let us do so for much longer ... it is such a wonderful thing.

Not that there's anything wrong with the Gen 3, in a world where the TRX doesn't exist it would have been a fine evolution to the Gen 2. The suspension is better, and the 37 option is a great thing. Other than that it's kind of a dud that was rushed before its time in order to respond to the TRX. The problem ford has is that they had already given up on the V8, so trying to backtrack now is a desperate move that's unlikely to pay off. First of all they released a truck before its time that let most of their biggest fans down. All in the promise that a year or so down the line they will offer a V8 version to compete with the TRX. All the while Ram already has the Red Eye engine sitting on the shelf to rek them a day later.
The V8 game is on its last legs, FCA knows this and they're pumping them out as fast as they can before they're not allowed to any more. Ford should have stuck electric motors on the ecoboost. It would have given the Raptor more power, more torque, and it would have made it more fuel efficient, beating and differentiating it from the TRX. It would have been the perfect bridge between the TRX and the Hummer EV. Instead they're going to release a V8 a year too late to compete with a brand that has already beat them at that game. FCA doesn't have a plan for the future all it has is monster engines that people love but won't be allowed to buy in the near future.
I just don't understand what Ford is doing. I'm sure the Raptor R is going to be great, I might even consider buying one, but for now the current Gen 3 it's a whole lot of meh.
I have no skin in this game and no brand tribalism, I just care about great vehicles.
When in the history of humanity has the solution to any problem been more trombone?
Yet here we are.
One of the things I loved about my GTR and AMG in general throughout its history is that they married European engineering and precision with the American muscle sound to create something really unique and a core characteristic of the brand.
Obviously with the particulate filter situation, and because AMG isn't making a separate exhaust for the US, that's not possible in the most epic car they've ever built. Which is a shame, and hopefully someone will offer an aftermarket option to make it right.
So if there are any vendors out there, get your tuning forks out and listen to this ... it doesn't have to be that over the top, just adjusted for the perfect AMG pitch.
Thnxby.

PS. That's not actually my plate, that's not what SC personalized plates look like, and I wouldn't do that anyway even if I could. It's just a novelty plate from the internet to hide my actual plate when I take the pictures.

On a side note, I hate front aesthetics of the 992 front bumper.
All that said Porsche always makes wonderful GT cars, and looks aside, the new GT3 looks to continue that tradition. The 992 3RS is a couple of years away and the 2RS maybe three ... I mean that's how this stuff works, each generation gets faster than the last.
I'm looking forward to getting a Touring ... NA, sound, red line, manual, all equal to what I think that's the top iteration of the 911 and that will probably be a keeper. If I really wanted something that I could also track then I'd skip the GT3 and wait for the 3RS.
On a side note, I'm suspecting all the snippy comments from Porsche fans about the large BS grille might now come to a grinding halt.
