Quote: The next gen GT coupe will share the platform and engine configurations with the new SL.
So while there can be a lot of interior/exterior design/suspension differences, the core of those cars will be very similar, especially in the ePerformance (P3 hybrid) versions.
That's a shame for the AMG GT fans, but I expect it will make our current GTs more desirable over time.

The wheelbase of the new SL, based on the "spy" photographs, is much shorter than the current GT, and the engine does not appear to be a mid engine. While the hood (bonnet) looks to be just as long as the GT's, the car doesn't have its proportions. The only thing I like about the new SL, assuming the "spy" photos are accurate, is the way the back of the convertible top flows into what would be the C pillar were it not a roadster.

I had 3 SLs during the 1990s, from 1990 to 1998, and as the years went by they got softer. By the end of the century they were no longer "sports cars" but very cushy convertibles. It looks like the new SL seeks to reverse that trend.

After 5 GT3RS in a row I’d love to get a BS, are there any available, what’s going rate?

Have my S63 Coupe but that track / circuit setting it has just shows they have a sense of humor at AMG and I certainly didn’t get it to go to the track LOL

There are still some out there unclaimed and seems to be around 150k over from what I have found/been told.
Mercedes Benz of Westminster in CO has 1 incoming (magmabeam) for $496,045 and 1 in production (matte graphite grey) for $490,595.
Mercedes Benz of Silver Spring in MD has 1 incoming and stated they had a few offers of 150K over but waiting for the car to get to the dealership and then do high bidder.

The S63 can do it. Here's Sir Lewis Hamilton tracking an S63 Cabriolet with Sir William.

G wagons are going for 100k over, this is actually not that bad, i thought they'd be double MSRP since even used cars are selling for over MSRP.

In your opinion of course.

The market is what it is for both the G63 and the GTBS. If people are willing and able to pay the premium then so be it.

There are several other super cars that go for premiums like these. Look at the Porsche line as an example.

Of course, but in principle, it's still absurd to me. I can comfortably buy a lot of things, but I'll never pay dealer markup for something, especially not a 45% markup. 🤣

But as the old saying goes… Now we know you will pay a markup and all we have to do is negotiate the right amount.

Some of those wagons are going for 100k over but so far as I can tell the plain vanilla/black G63's are asking 50-75k over and the Red/White Special Editions (192k msrp) are asking 75-100 over. One red one here asking +100 or 50% over but not sure they will get it since a white one traded in Texas last week @ +70k and another out another state at + 55k. Getting a 550 is a helluva lot easier and cheaper. Also begs the question if MBZ increases MSRP rather than let all the $ go to the dealers/spec buyers.

MB can also make more BS or limit their dealerships to only be able to ask/get a certain percentage markup?

Nope. The GT Black Series is a very limited run and always has been.

Burt has been kind enough to keep us in the loop regarding production numbers and end dates.
At this point it looks like September is the end for the 2021 Blacks as other 2022 MB models are ramping up to be produced.
THERE WILL BE NO 2022 GT BLACK SERIES MANUFACTURED.

Surprising news ... turns out my dealer was wrong. My BS got released from Brunswick yesterday and I got it delivered today.

First matte graphite one in the US and no one can take that away from me, especially that fancy lad Burt. I hate him so MUCH!!!

Bad delivery pic before I get her detailed.

even new Porsche gt3's which havent hit our shores yet are all spoken for and are asking 100k adm.....they are all playing the same game until demand slows down. Even Kia has a markup nowadays.
