Getting a GTR Black Series...

1.) Lose several hundred pounds.
2.) Get rid of blind spot, brake/hold, keyless entry, distronic and all of the other crap that adds weight. This is a one off special track car. Not some half track - half luxury amenities all glopped together car.
3.) Better brakes - specifically cooling.
4.) Lightweight bucket seats - no power/memory everything.
5.) Lose a lot of sound deadening/insulation - thus more weight loss.
6.) More power - 650 HP
7.) Improve the programming on the DCT - a bit sluggish in the current iteration.
8.) More carbon, magnesium wheels and less frills.
9.) Carpet - who needs carpet?
10.) Lose weight, lose weight and lose more weight is key.
Since this car will be limited and not mass produced. They don't have to be concerned about customers who can't get a high end burmester in their car and that sort of thing. I'm pretty sure MB doesn't want to launch this car and have it not do a sub 7-minute lap time on the ring. I'm really hoping they knock it out of the park with this car. I have a feeling they are going to. Will post updates on the journey as they become available. Still a lot of unknowns at this point. Final thought: how cool would roll up windows be in this car?

The car is pretty much ready so your wish list is a bit irrelevant I guess?
Car has buckets in most markets already, everyones saying 680bhp, brake cooling on PRO works, DCT in GTR is as fast as it gets so not sure what you're on about there.
Agreed though, car needs to lose weight most importantly but I don't think we'll see more than 50kg.

Didn't say it was guaranteed. Buckets need to be made available for the US market. If this car is 105bhp more at 50kg less. Really no point. They can and have to reduce the weight. They need to think spartan. I think shifting can be improved. PDK makes the DCT in the GTR seem slow in comparison - just my opinion.
The Project One is delayed by 2 years, All the depositors are being offered GT Blackseries to tide them over. No other allocations have been made whatsoever.
There will be cars going to none project one owners but any dealer that has promised a customer a car is lying at this point.

Around town even in Sport mode it’s obviously not as quick to change between gears as it is in Race, but there’s no need for it to be especially given the torque of the engine versus the characteristics of the GT3/GT3 RS drivetrain.

Running as a track slag will reduce costs over racing it but it still many orders of magnitude more expensive to run than any road car. FWIW my E92 race car costs around 4x as much a day to run on track that my GTR.

I started following MPC. I have spoken a few teams as well. Were you at Petit btw? Caught up with Ben and he mentioned the 2020 AMG GT3 engine was approved to run more hours. IIRC was 25 hours now 40 hours?

The reality is the GTR was way more than anybody ever thought and didn’t leave much for improvement. But we will see.....

I know Tobias said it'll be a different engine but now I can hear it sounds nothing like what we're used to.
