Created this thread in an effort to consolidate more technical aspects of, and potential repair techniques for our Getrag/Magna 7DCL750 DC Trans and make searching more expeditious.
Kindly request anyone, or any of your Ferrari or Ford GT colleagues, to share a PDF of Repair Manual for our Trans - this Repair Manual is proving elusive on the interwebs.
Please find official Getrag tech specs attached.

Videos on Issues, Repairs, Recommended Shops, etc:
1st video is particularly informative. The 2nd, not so much, but supposedly they will have a Part #2.
The 1st video above from Hollywood Mechanic even links the Ferrari step by step instructions on various Trans repairs, including the more 'common' Gearbox Speed Sensor seen in our forum:
(unconfirmed if MB follows the exact same procedure, but one can make reasonable assumptions)
I just rebuilt one for an SLS that had the radial shaft seal leak, and I have done it a couple times on my GTR for other reasons. If anyone needs their DCT trans re-sealed, contact me.
I have rebuilt hundreds of these gearboxes and have an in depth intervention program as well as being able to acquire virtually every wearing component even if it is unobtanium status. Feel free to reach out to me via pm for more information!
Good afternoon. I live in Russia. Even-numbered broadcasts have not been turned on recently. The box stopped turning on. I had to restart the engine after a minute to go. Error code P0791. I gave it for repair and 2 more errors appeared and the box does not turn on at all P1904. P1903

Sounds like one of the Solenoids failed. Hope you get it fixed asap!
Having this issue with with my sls. Spotted a little leak when I got my rear brakes done, we thought it was my uncles Alfa Romeo which was parked in the same spot earlier… Was driving completely fine, went to my warehouse, and it was leaking out the back while I was driving I am told. Car is now parked up at home and won’t drive it. Will it be okay to drive out of my underground car park to the top to get it recovered? Car didn’t loose gears.
Before all of this, I did have a TCM fault come up “c12187 Communication with ESP has a malfunction”.
It also seems like it’s leaking from multiple places. A strange scattered puddle.
Is there any specialist in the UK who can fix these gearboxes? I’ve seen online a few place selling repair kits in different stages which are fairly well priced. Last specialist I spoke to quoted between 5-10k for repair depending on what is needed which seemed abit absurd…
Does a AMG GT gearbox fit on a SLS? There’s a gearbox from a low mile car in great condition locally which I can pick up at a cheap price.
Don’t want to be a cheap skate but it is my daily driver and just spent 20k on the car for a whole new loom, along with a new paint job
It is to date, the most utterly unreliable car I have owned but I love every bit of it.
I can't tell you for sure whether the GT gearbox fits the SLS.
But I know for sure that the SLS has a mechanical limited-slip differential. That was only available on early GT models. But the GT also had later an electronically controlled one for an additional charge. GTS / GTC / GTR gearboxes are therefore also out of the question.

Can you share some info on where your experience with the Getrag DCT came from? Did you work for Ferrari? MB? Getrag/Magna?
Thanks
Apparently from what I understand...there is a seal inside the transmission that disintegrates over time. When it goes, the entire tranny has to be opened up in order to replace the part.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This is a different issue than the transaxle recall that was on the older model year GT'S.
That doesnt sound too comforting. Would it impact every single GT regardless of maintenance? Would it be dependent on driving style and mileage or its literally degradation over time and a ticking time bomb for every GT owner!?
anyone on the forum with a GT that had this issue since so far looks like only ppl with a SLS spoke up? If so, around what mileage? Anyone here thats had a GT for long and with high mileage?

Again, from what I read on the FB page, this is a time issue, not mileage, that will effect all trannies eventually. However, I don't think anyone can say with 100% certainty that this is true because 100% of vehicles with this transmission has not been effected. Some will say "yet."
I would assume that if literally EVERY single GT transmission failed because of this, there would be a class action suit.
So this is what I'd recommend if you're worried about it. Get a Fidelity warranty. I have a contact if you want it. And follow the recommended transmission services. That way, IF something does fail, your warranty will cover it. And YES, the Fidelity platinum warranty will cover it according to my Rep.

im in canada so dont think fidelity would offer anything. Besides, still wont make sense to spend thousands on warranty for what seems to be a bad design. Oh well ill just get rid of the car sooner than I had initially planned.
still curious if theres anyone with a high mileage GT and if owners have experienced any trans issues
