My favorite cleaning and polishing solution for exhaust tips is the P21S Finish Restorer and a two sided microfiber polishing towel. Just apply one small dab and buff it on with the textured side of this towel. Then buff off the remaining residue with the smoother side. This should make the tips look very clean and shinny. Let me know if you have any other questions.

exhaust tips

After cleaning I am using Wheel Wax on mine. It should hold up to the heat given that it is designed for wheels and should offer protection between cleanings. Have just started this so can report again in several months on the results.

Try some 00 or 000 wet and soapy steel wool on 'em the next time you're washing the car. I've had great results with it for years if the tips are chrome or polished stainless.

I use something similar and use the mini power ball on my drill to buff it. Works well.

I just use McGuiars quick detail spray and poorboy's wheel sealant. Not a good idea to use anything harsh as you can take the polish right out of the tips.

My friend recommended the Zaino Glass Polish and it is designed to work on Chrome. As for me I use CAM (Chrome, Aluminum, Metal) polish. My tailpipes looked almost like new again and among my car parts cleaning, the exhaust tip polishing is what enjoyed the most. As a caution though, do not use a straight aluminum polish that's too gritty cause it will almost leave a haze from minor scratches that they will put in the stainless.

+1.. 00 or 0 steel wool helps as well on really stubborn/dirty tips, but most of the time I get great results with the Mother's on a terry cloth

my Remus stainless chrome tip exhaust on my 190E-16V had some particles issue that I can't get rid of no matter what products I used.

Someone told me to clean it with Vinegar and then Meguiar's gold. It looked like new after that. Can't believed it worked.

I also used vinegar to clean my brabus chrome rims because it has some acidic elements.

Did you also use a steel or wool brush?

no...brush or steel wool. I think it might scratch stainless or chrome.

I used regular Heinz vinegar and napkin.

BEFORE:

AFTER: (the other exhaust tip side has some dust, but they are very clean and shiny now after the vinegar and Meguiars gold treatment)
