I had my son flown from Oakland to Las Vegas for $19,
But they wanted $30 for handbag and I think $50 for suitcase.
When OM654 engines might take long time to make it to USA, they don't deliver any revolution, so OM651 is keeper for me till I will need self-driving auto.
To keep with car range, get 1 of those
In the paperwork that talks about a "Cash Payment" on page 4 it states that on July 12, 2021 the court will consider whether to approve the Class Action Settlements, payment of attorneys' fees and expenses, payments to Settlement Class Representatives, and related issues.
The modifications were court-approved in September 2020 and went into effect in April 2021.
So if cash payment distribution will take the same time, we can expect check somewhere in January or February?
I dropped off my 15’ gl350 on 4/12. Still in the shop. I have a c300 as a loaner. I’m worried that it’s taking this long. My advisor told me something along the lines of the software is not communicating with the engine and it threw a bunch of codes. I thought the aem was setup and ready to go that why I was quick to take it in.
has anyone else had their car in for more then two weeks?
Others have had their GL350's in and aren't having trouble. I'm taking mine in Tomorrow. I hope it doesn't take too long. I've got a sailboat to launch and I'm pretty sure they won't give me a loaner with a tow package!
I brought my 2015 GL350 in to Fletcher Jones MB in Newport Beach, and they finished it in 1 day. I got a loaner GLC for a day (can't say I looked to see if it had a tow package), everything went smoothly. As an extra data point, my average MPG has gone up from 25 to 27 pretty consistently so far. Happy with the modification so far. Getting it done early was absolutely worth it for my peace of mind, but I can see why some people want to wait.
Can anyone here speak to the "$2,500" check-- for eligible AEM diesels-
For owners who did mod recently-- BUT took ownership of car after the Original Settlement date?
In other words-- I want to buy an Eligible car- that has NOT had AEM done yet--
Get the 4 year warranty
and
Pocket the $2,500
I am skeptical of Getting the check and how long it might take to get. Can anyone here speak to this scenario?
Also-- seems like Oil coolers seals/leaks-- are NOT covered in the om642-- Correct??

Every bluetec is eligible for the AEM and with it the warranty.
You have to prove you owned the the car on a date last year to be eligible for the cash (it's pretty specific).
There is a list of what is covered available in the settlement links -- it's the diesel emission system, not the entire car.
The warranty isn't enough to get me to buy a OM642. Get the OM651 instead for a much better ownership experience.

I have NOT read - the long version
I have read Kajtek1's short excerpt- the way I read it- It basically says that Owners are eligible for $2,4XX amount- if they Get the AEM work done- and owned the car after the settlement date in Fall of 2020.
Am I missing something? was Kajtek1 wrong-- or is there more to this?
When warranty doesn't cover whole car, it does cover DPF, DEF, fuel pumps, valves and injectors. Hardly can't ask for anything more for vehicles who can have 400,000 miles on them (and some Sprinters do).
When I love OM651 engine, my last purchased Sprinter has OM642. I agree for the engine to get body that I like and then I bought bigger boat to tow, so V6 is compromise.
Still on Sprinter the engine is way more accessible than on sedan.
I was replacing air filters on sedan and it took couple of hr. Very unfriendly engine access.
Taking about settlement - I quoted the legal source. Don't take my word for it.
Oil coolers are not spelled in the warranty, but the warranty has a line "all components who can be affected by AEM". So it might be up to dealer discretion to cover it or not.

Kajtek1's reply to me earlier-
Eligible Post-Announcement Owner or LesseeOwns or leases a Registered Subject Vehicle at the time the AEM is installed, but purchased or leased that vehicle after September 14, 2020 $2,467.50 per Valid Claim (Mercedes Class Action Settlement)
+
$225 (Bosch Class Action Settlement)*
*The Bosch Class Action Settlement payments may be reduced up to 25% for attorneys' fees and costs awarded by the Court (See FAQ 33)
so - I should get $2467 if I buy today-- and get the AEM done in next few months? Right?
My 2014 ML was finished Saturday. No codes. Too early to get fuel economy reading. Drivability appears better. My 2015 GL is waiting on the parts for the AEM.
I also submitted the paperwork for the $3500 check.

When you fill out the claim form:
"DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE YOUR CLAIM:
... PROOF that you owned or leased AND registered the Subject Vehicle on or before September 14, 2020. Permitted documentation to prove ownership or lease includes your bill of sale, lease agreement, title, registration...

Hey Kajtek1-- how long did it take to get your check from MB when u had AEM done on your 2104 e250?
I did the AEM. The car feels just a bit different. There is more low end torque. I know because I can now climb up the hill that goes to my house at 5th gear. Usually the transmission selects 4th gear. Feels like the turbo has less .lag too. Don't know the full impact to the fuel economy just yet as I haven't gone through a full tank yet.
I have a question. Looking at the work order in my pic, does it look like they actually changed the DPF? It doesn't actually say it.
250 bluetecs do have cat + DPF combo and parts catalogs call it catalytic converter.
212490740085 is your unit. The old part retail about $4000, when they don't put pricing on AEM statements.
I think that is what everyone is getting. There had to be a tremendous behind the scenes program to get all those built and ready for this recall! It appears there are plenty of them in stock as no one seems to have waited on parts for more than a day. Aren’t the new replacements filled with copper this time? Wonder where all these supposedly rebuilt ones came from? Looks new on outside.
my 2014 ML Bluetec is running great and glad I have it completed
Its been MB USA policy for years to sell new parts as remanufactured to clean the market from used parts and possibly avoid some resposibility.
I took a look on my exhaust and it is new.
DPF are not really rebuildable.
