Heated seats in 300D

I'm wondering... It seems that some of these cars had heated seats. Unfortunately mine does not.

Was there a "cold weather package" that was optional with these cars? Mine is from 1983 and has always been owned in the state I live in.

Heated seats were just another option, although a rare one.

No heated seats for W123 anywhere in EPC.

Must go to aftermarket.

I have heated seat in my car it's a euro 1978 280CE Haven't tested them as I am busy trying to get it running after it's 15 year sleep in a barn. I was surprise that they even had them in 1978.

That must be an error, heated seats were a factory option (as were orthopedic seats) in the C/W/T 123.

The oe heating pads are on ebay atleast once a year but people want way to much for them, i'd just get one that plugs into the ciggerette lighter and take it apart, then slip the pads under the seat surface and permenantly wire it in, some of them have digital controls that would be better than oe anyway.

Mine has a factory heated drivers seat there is only two setting "way to hot" and off lol, the w126 heated seats, I think, were the first to have timers so they heat up the seat then turn off automatically.

Front heated seats were optional on US 123's for around 3 or 4 hundred dollars. They were 2-stage like the 126 and later models. The switches were located on the lower center console between the front window switches.

This is the type I have on my 1978 EURO which BTW still work and they work wonderfully. I never had heated seats before and OMG they are so warm I love them.

I just bought Reggie Jackson's old sheep skin covers. They are really nice seat covers I assume the heat will pass throught the sheepskin.

Is it O.K. to used heat and Sheepskin??

Yes, heated seats were an option... very rare though for the later w123 models.

My drivers seat is heated, it gets HOOOT!, there is a switch in the upper corner near the shift lever, they changed the button style to the one above atleast after 1980, on a 1985 500sel it's a timed button that will turn off the heat after a few minutes. Is it like that on a w123?

edit: mine are like cheapold280CE's not the newer ones.

On my heated seats If you push the toggle button forward seats get really hot fast, I don't know it they will turn off buy themselves after time or not , as it gets to hot and I switch it to single dot position.

But the manual mentions two versions and only on first version does it say don't leave it on too long in double dot position. And it calls the single dot a continous position. So I figure in the second version a timer is used and seats cut off if left in double dot position.

I mostly just use the single dot position and it does stay on.

Yeah those are the older ones and not timed, the newer ones may be on a timer (they are in the 1985 w126 500sel which have the same buttons)
