there is alot of trouble starting usually you have to turn igition twice and for long time...

WHat is the problem?

IS this related to the gasket leak the 1990 models are known to have ?

Cool

Hello Sklasse, it can be a number of things causing your problem but I would start with checking the actuation of the cold start valve and fuel presure holding time. You might have to replace the fuel accumultor and fuelpump checkvalve(both next to fuel pump )if presure drops below 40 psi after half an hour with engine off. The Cold start valve should actuate the first time on a cold start cycle, for example in the morning. But normaly if the fuel accumultor or fuelpump checkvalve is bad it would also take alot of engine cranking during a warm start, mabe not as long as when cold but longer than usual.

the mechanic said 'starting coil' maybe is the issue.

But This mechanic is known for making things up to get money so I am not sure.....what exactly is the issue.

I don't want to take it to a dealer as that will be expensive

So why would you ask that guy in the first place? Seems like a second opinion is in order.

At least with a Benz you have the last resort of dropping a grand and taking it to the dealer. My local Audi dealer won't touch my 93 S4 that's in perfect condition.

try using the SEARCH engine....

IT sounds to me like your OVP relay.

It's located behind the battery.

Look behind the plastic (black) water shield, you will there find it.
