Supercharging '87 300e
I was wondering if it is possible to supercharge an otherwise stock '87 300e even though it is MFI?
I am capable of doing a custom setup with an Eaton SC, but cannot afford an engine management system and such. Any info/ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Is that all i'd need to make this project work? Also, is that item a direct replacement for my stock 300e?
By the way, I've kept up with the thread, but the thing is I want to make this work without expensive management system and stuff.

No, that's a cheap mod i want to try. You will need a fuel management system and there is no other way around it unless you intall a turbo kit. Look into supercharging the VW rabbit and see what you find. They have somewhat the same CIS-E system.

What does CIS stand for? I believe it has to do with the Mechanical fuel injection system. So, generally, what does a turbo kit comprise of and how much do they run for? Will it be all I need to have an eaton integrated into my car safely? thanks

The turbo kits like RBYCC's are VERY expensive...
But you could buy a turbo and do the work yourself. Go to youtube.com and search "300e turbo"
It's the blue one...maybe you can get some ideas from that video

CIS=Continuous Injection System. You know what I was thinking last night too, What about a centrifugal supercharger instead or a roots type? It will also work with the CIS-E system...
Like this one...You can install it like a turbo without the exhaust work just need a place to mount it..

not trying to be a ball buster but why would u supercharge a 300e i mean i have the same exzact car and im imagin that its probably got a ****load of miles and if not still 21 year old.if i put a supercharger in my car i think it would last a 2 miles before i blew a piston.

I don't know about you guys but there is a point like at half throttle that you wish you can push it all the way down without it falling flat on it's face on full throttle. I wish i had more top end power but I also know the transmission can't take that much abuse.
I also wonder what part we can use from audi, vw, and bmw with the same cis system...

ask him how many pistons he has been through so far wuts he got like 600 hp or somthin like that yah thats ****in nuts no doubt but i dont think these models can handle it. tell me if he put all that work into one of the v-8 models that r made for more power that it wouldnt be 10 times better. its like all those those kids then dump money into a ****in hatchback whats the point?? might as well hook up a bicycle

Hey a little extra power doesn't hurt anyone. I wouldn't pay $200 for an air intake. I rather spend money on stuff that would give me more power like a supercharger. The bottom end on these mercedes doesn't really need work for 300-400hp but the heads are the main problem when making any type of power...

Pumpish did plan to work over a 500e for around 800-1000hp but I'm not sure how far he got on that.
Bottom line, I'd love for my CE to be quick. Its such a well composed and beautiful car, it just lacks ***** of any type.

95' AMG SeeThreeSix
This summer megasquirt is going into my 86' W124. I'm thinking about doing a writeup, we'll see. However I believe a MS setup is the cheapest route to a homemade turbo setup. I have already acquired a brand new m45/mp45, whichever the '03-05 SLK/CLKs have, and was trying to make use of it on this car. I just want to make a custom setup, which isn't a problem as I am plenty handy with this type of work, but I just want an affordable fuel managment option.
Overall, I am just looking to make this Eaton work safely on this car and am trying to find the easiest ways to make it happen. I am not looking to get sophisticated or spend tons to make it all fancy.

208,000 miles spent more on a new transmisson then i did on the whole car 214,000 my one of my vavles is shot. but your probably right high mileage means nothing.... im not dissin mercedes there awesome cars my f150 has 161,000 miles and i get excited if it even starts, just sayin be realistic
