Brake Lining Wear VISIT WORKSHOP!

Well i did it, ive been abusing my poor baby lately and I pushed her too hard today.

100-0 hard stop(due to a stupid Ford Explorer deciding to make a quick u-turn as he sees me coming down)

I am at fault as well for speeding but I would not of had to brake as hard due to this guy

so i get this dreaded message

Brake Lining Wear VISIT WORKSHOP!

How much is a full brake job? How much are OEM pads and sensors?

I still love my baby

But....since I did this....im going to get her detailed soon....hopefully shell feel better

Don't end up being a tommygunn,Okay!!!!!

Get em done before they eat into the rotors. If replacing the rotors, slotted are fine don't get drilled.

slotted and dimpled are fine since the holes don't go all the way through and create cracks.EBC on the MGB and have never had a failure.

Well, good reaction with that panic stop. Curious to know if your car has BAS. It's the Brake Assist feature that applies brakes with full force in fractions of a second when it detects a panic stop situation. BAS starts with MY2000.

Cheers.

ohlord:

I have known this British made bleeder tools for years, Eezibleed. It's easy to use, compact for easy storage, but the best part is that it comes with the German Ate type reservoir cap for our cars. It's widely available online for about $40.00.

Cheers

nice

find.
that must make it a breeze,to do every two years!it is worth it to keep fresh fluid in the system and moisture out.
Anyone remember the guy who said it was okay not to change brake fluid if you lived in California, because it was not humid down there? Is he still alive

I remember from older Mercedes owner's manuals, it used to say: renew brake fluid once a year, preferably in the spring. I'm talking eighties era. There was DOT 4, so brake fluid technology was well developed then.

I try to follow that early rule since I've noticed how dark fluid becomes in the reservoir from dissolved rubber or what have you even after only six months or so. I take the old fluid out from the reservoir with a syringe and then clean whatever dark deposits I can reach with a piece of clean wadding before adding fresh fluid.

I love doing this maintenance since you do really feel an improvement in pedal feel immediately.

My '99 has BAS, so that doesn't seem to be true - I thought all W210s regardless of model year have it.
