AC Problems
Sounds like your blower is dead.

is the ec light on?
is the compressor turning?
I have a 1997 e420, sometimes when I'm at a red light that I know will take a long time, I just put the car in neutral, but i notice that it no longer blows cold air when I do that.... why?
First was the A/C control since the display was impossible to read. I found one on ebay and replaced it no problem. Found the procedure to erase all the DTC codes from the previous vehicle it was in and I have one remaining.
I don't remember the code number now (maybe B1417??), but it is for the left duovalve. This makes sense since the drivers side vent to the left of the steering wheel only blows hot air. I found instructions for cleaning it out but still having the same results. I also ran the diagnostics which tell me my refrigerant is probably a little low. I have the hissing sound and something about the temperature in #5 was lower than expected. So I know I need to add some refrigerant. Is it possible this will fix the duovalve problem? I cleaned out both plungers from the duovalves with carb cleaner and put vasoline on the lower parts as I found instructions for somewhere on the internet.
Also, I opened the duovalves before the car was cooled off enough and ended up losing a bunch of oil to my garage floor. What do I use to replace this and where does it go?
Thanks for your help
Did you run the diagnostics and post the values 1-8 and the error codes and then erase the codes?
Post them when you got them

You may check the duo valve function by inserting the plug left to right you would have cut the little tag on the plug it prevents insertion.
If the left side still blows hot the problem is the valve, if not you have the same situation I have.
No codes for me to help mine is not the computer version.

When I turn on my AC even at full blast almost no air is being pushed out. If I put my hand up to the vent I can feel that there is very cold air coming out just not hard enough feel even a few inches away from the vents.
Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?
Thanks
MB in Germany told me they don't want warm air from the center vents that can be directed to the drivers face causing drowsiness.
The center vents get warm or cool air.
The mechanic does not no what he is talking about.
The center console gets its heat or cooling from the center vents also.
If you direct the air flow with the directional arrows towards your face and have the heat on you get heat from the center vents, not the same velocity but heat never the less.
Car is running now warm air out of center vents

Where these factory guys come up with Germans don't want heat coming out of the center vents and where do we come up with members that believe that
now look at the center vents same the type of illustrated arrow= cooled air...am i interpreting this right?
If you have the ec off and no blended a/c with heat you just get heat, lower volume but heat. If the compressor is on and you have the heat up you will still have heat.
Nothing wrong with my system and other members that have heat and nothing wrong with the diagrams that state center console gets its heat or cooling from the center vent system thus watch out for heat sensitive items in the storage bin when the heat is on and the vent is open in the box.
I warm up the car put my hand in front of the center vents and have warm air.
It does not blow as strong as the side vents but it is warm and it is blowing.
I kid you not.
Anyone familiar with that?
If you look on the drivers side wheel well it is a little black unit with vac hoses going to it and it comes on when the engine is started to pull fumes from the emissions system. Normal sound normal operation.
