Question A/C Vents inside Center Console???

Just purchased 2001 E320 with 40k miles. I have been using this forum usually by searching for my topic and most everything important is already covered somewhere. Thank you.

Somebody must know - why are there a/c vents INSIDE the storage unit (under where the driver would rest his right elbow)??

And

if you want, since it distributes the same temp as the main vents. You can also keep a burger nice and tasty warm,if so inclined.Just close all the dash vents and open up the console one, insert burger and wait

That is not entirely true... If you forget to close the vents on a cold day with your chocolate inside, you can pray the wrapping is sealed or you'll have chocolate all over

Talking Thanks!

Well... not sure if there is a straight answer in the bunch! Finally stumped the panel - Wow!

This group is great. Honestly I have trouble changing a light bulb but I replaced the antenna tip that I lost an hour after I bought the car going through the car wash after researching it on the board. Thanks again, even if no one knows the real reason for the vents!!!

Those

are the real anwsers. The first ones, keep things cool on hot days, keep things warm on cool days
Honest. For reals. It's in the owners manual.

it even warns you with a note that says
"the compartment can get very warm due to its confined space. When storing heat sensitive objects in the compartment, close the air outlet while heating the passenger compartment. Also do not obstruct the air outlet."

2,3,4,5,8,

and 12.
Those are all real or potential things attempted.
The others take modification kits from aftermarket suppliers to boost console temperatures beyond stock values.Mercedes warns these modifications to cooking temperatures may void warranty for use of non spec parts.
