You don't

want 19's they ruin the ride.
Remove the springs, cold cut saw 1 1/2 coil from each spring measured properly and reinstall.Get camber eccentrics and rear links and a good align and call it good.

this is a benz, even 240sx guys dont dare cut their springs because it ruins the suspension over time to a degree where theres no turning back and you wont be able to have an alignment done ever again.

Another myth

We have be racing MB with cut springs for years. Even the factory guys still do it. All you change is the spring rate about 10% and if done with a cold saw and not heat you won't fatigue the spring a bit.
Aftermarket springs often exhibit far more than 10%
You can still get it aligned.
Dealer sponsored track cars do it all the time.
Mb shop foremen do it to their track/road cars

4matics have very few options available in lowering kits if you can find them at all. So a good proper cut does the trick. Old springs cut right don't change rate after the cut and -1.5 neg camber is not hard to correct.

i'm taking a stab here....

since ohlord has, in the past, suggested 1.5 coil trim, he is/was referring
to RWD. for the 4matic, the coil will need to be cut specific to the coil-
over design and thus, different than RWD.

don't think you can drop in E55 springs. pretty sure the E55 design is based
on seperate shock v springs, whereas 4matic has coil-over configuration

No

they are different springs.Made to fit the shocks which have a U shape on the bottom that the axle goes through on the 4matic.
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=052&SGN=01
bottom diagram. The front axle goes through the inverted U at the bottom of the shock.

look at the 4matic spring the ends are tangential front and rear.Meaning you can chop them
So spend the time and if you go a bit at a time start at 1 coil and go more later.
You will be spending additional money on camber units so budget them in also.
Maybe I should start building custom springs and shorter travel shocks with proper brackets.Titanium coils sounds like a winner $$$$
