Question Sport Package Question

Folks,

Besides the skirts, fog lamps, and wheels/tires, are there other differences between the sports package and non-sports? Like suspension, etc?

Thanks!

On the W210, those are the only differences.

Hmmm... For some reason, I feel that the ride is firmer. Must be the wheel/tire combo.

According to the dealer, yes, there is a suspension difference which uses firmer shocks. This is what the service tech told me at Mercedes as we were conversing about E classes.

He/They Lied or are very mis-informed. No W210 E-Class Sport Package has any different suspension parts.

Not the same as the W202 C-Class Sport Package - It does have different suspension setup.

I concur with Kev, there is no difference, though perhaps the new E does have something. But not the w210 model.

So would you guys attribute the firm ride strictly to the low profile tires then?

Well, I guess it's time that I go and give that service tech at Mercedes a piece of my mind for not knowing what the heck he's talking about. The answer to your question "hgp" would then be yes. Anytime you go with a lower profile tire, the ride on the vehicle gets stiffer due to less roll on the tire.
