New member with climate control questions

Hello everybody,
I just joined this forum after months of reading it, as this forum seems to have more people willing to help unlike a similar forum I was previously a member of. I do have a few questions about my 1999 E320's climate control system. First, does anybody have the P1 and P2 values to get rid of the fan display bar being on all of the time? My second and last question is concerning the passenger floor vent flap. Is there a way to access it without taking the entire dashboard apart? The little arm that opens/closes the flap keeps popping off of the flap, and I would like to fix it as it is stuck open.
Thanks, Andrew

Post Got Codes, need help

My 2000 E430 is not blowing cold air.
After reading these forums for months with great interest, searching for my exact problem, I've decided to just put it to the experts ("wink wink" OH LORD)

On board diagnostics read as follows

COLD START after allowing a 3 min idle
1=125
2=94
3=80
4=85
5=84
6=103
7=03
8=84
FAULT CODE
b1416

Cleared the codes ran a few errends and ran the tests again
AFTER DRIVING
1=107
2=96
3=116
4=116
5=114
6=168
7=06
8=107
FAULT CODE(S)
b1416 & b1416 with a picture of a little fan

1. My EC light IS NOT stuck on.
2. My compressor will turn on, when I turn EC light off.
3. I DO hear a hissing from center vents.
4. I see that #7 sensor shows low pressure indicating possible need to recharge, but when husband tried to add R134 the gauge on the can was reading FULL and into RED zone
5. Tapped the Duo Valve - cuz everyone else does
6. I won't allow husband to take apart Duo Valve for cleaning...yet
because I don't notice that much difference in temperature of air coming from vents on right vs left sides, it's all warm

The only thing that stands out for me is the Fault Code.
I get b1416 if EC light remains lit during operation
I get b1416 & b1416 with a picture of a little fan on the LED readout if I turn EC light off, which I know, is asking for A/C and allowing compressor to turn on.

My husband knows more than most about car engine stuff but little about the way a computer operates. I know very little about car stuff but feel comfortable around a computer.
Because my E430 is a computer on wheels I was hoping we could solve this A/C issue, of course with a little help from everyone here in these forums.

Any thoughts are appreciated !

OCE, can you take a picture of the flap? I don't know which vent you mean.

AS

EVIDENCED by the values 1-5 and 7 you can stop wasting your time doing anything with the duo-valve or even worrying doing anything to the duo-valve.
You are low on 134a if the compressor is truly engaged forget the pressure on the a/c can. Run the a/c on lowest temp hook up the tube to the schrader valve low pressure port follow directions on can ADD 1 can (small) and see if the value for #5 drops as you add.
Sometimes helps to put the can of 134 into hot tap water for a minute before hooking it up.

Variable demand

system,forget the gauge reading.
Run the diagnostics and errors and post them.
At 02 you appear to be very low and shut down.
let the numbers decide

Forget the

sun sensor fault.
Value 02 for #7 is low 134a
fault 1241 refrigerant fill.
Therein lies the problem.
You might have a leak or just time has robbed the system of r134a
Toss in a small can /no stop leak
If questions just give me a call.

EC light off

compressor running?
it is still low.
Might be time to have the system evacuated,held under vacuum to see if there is a leak,locate and fix leak and fill with proper amount of oil and r134a
proper amount is on decal attached to the ecu cover plate over by the duo valves.
