cutting springs
hey everyone, i'm planning on cutting my springs. before this turns into a debate on whether it's safe/good or not, let me just say that i will probably only cut 1 coil. i'm just wondering what tools i would need to do this and any advice or things i should watch out for. also, is the spring compressor from o'reilly ok to use on our cars? thanks!

right. no torch. i used an abrasive cutoff wheel on an air tool. each cut took
approx 1 minute, keeping the temperature down.
my set is actually available if you're interested. you would then have the
option of keeping your stock coils intact should you desire.
both rear and front springs were cut for 1" drop.

I no longer need them as I came across a nice used set of Eibachts which were
designed with the spring rate I wanted for my overall ride
approx 1 minute, keeping the temperature down.

Besides Ray's springs
you will need the klann spring compressor KLANN KL-0025-1K
or it's cheaper by about a thousand dollars clone.![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
And if you drop it more than an inch look into all the other issues that crop up and the costs involved to correct them.
