The Brake Job
After months of research, e-mails, phone calls, and scouring the Internet, I have now gathered what I hope will be the correct parts to do a brake upgrade on my E430. Here is what I have:
Brembo Front Drilled Rotors (300 mm) FD00091
Brembo Rear Drilled Rotors (290 mm) RD00053
Axxis Deluxe PLUS Pads (Front) DB1403 (Centris #107-07400)
Axxis Deluxe PLUS Pads (Rear, single pin) DB1457 (Centris #107-08760)
StopTech Front Braided Stainless Steel Lines 85-560-4500
StopTech Rear Braided Stainless Steel Lines 85-560-5500
Installation will happen the week of October 11. Will post installation and performance results. Special thanks to:
John at www.brakeworld.com
Bob at Race Technologies (Brembo distributor)
Frank at www.theracersshop.com
Jeff at www.importrp.com

Here is pic of Brembos. Remember, most W210 E430s came with 316mm front rotors. Some early cars, such as mine, unfortunately came with 300mm fronts. The 332mm Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kit would not clear my wheel spokes.

Hey Mike,
Looks like a worthwhile upgrade! Make sure you paint the hats of the rotors or else they will rust. I got the same rear rotors.
I've used high heat bbq paint to paint the rotors I just put on my car and it should last quite a while. Used the same paint on the rotors on my carrera and has been holding up fine for the last 15K.
Let us know how you like the stainless lines. Alex has been after me to upgrade this one last bit on my car, but I thought I would hold off. Just need a little push and I'm there.
Make sure you have a mallet and some penetrating oil to spray on the rotors. The ones on my car were seized. Needed to whack them pretty good.
Enjoy your project!
Travis

Hey Fats,
The Brembos are all cadmium plated...I shouldn't have to paint them to prevent rust, should I? That is one reason I bought them.
I have braided lines on my Porsche and love them. Never a problem.

Installation Finished!
Everything fit like a glove. No problems. The rotors look fantastic! For some reason, the fronts look bigger than stock, but they are not (300mm).
She stops on a dime with no noise. Will test in north Georgia mountains this weekend. In this pic, note braided line and big, fat H & R front bar.

Pic of rear. Again, you can see braided line at left and H & R bar at top of pic.

Mike,
I'm almost certain the C32 brake kit was an option for you, what made you choose this setup over the C32, just curious?
My brake project was just a little bit more in terms of cost (little more than 100 bucks difference from yours) Figure about 1050, but without the stoptech lines.

The calipers on the big brake kits would not clear my wheel spokes. I have aftermarket wheels. Not sure if the C32s would fit, but I doubt it. I checked the clearance of the Brembo 332mm Gran Turismo kit and it wasn't even close.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have some AMG calipers peeking out behind those wheels.
I figure for what I did and the money I spent for all 4 wheels, it was a deal.

thats a real nice setup...
I got my C32 AMG/Brembo kit with Stoptech SS lines done for about $700 total...
I still need to get new rear drilled rotors to match the front... but thats about it.
