Traded my E320 for a S430
Hi guys...no more R Class postings. I am now the owner of a 2006 S Class S430. Did the deed yesterday after a call from the LV dealer that he had a nice one just arrive. I took the bait and after seeing the car and sitting for a while, the costly process began.
Made a pretty good deal, about $1500-2000 below invoice and got a reasonable trade value based on the soft W211 market. Drove it home at 5PM or so and I am one happy camper. The R was nice and is a great car but this is totally different and reeks with quality. I shot a couple of pictures and posted some others on a web site.
I know I will not be posting here much anymore but wanted to thank you all for your input when needed. Look for me on the W220 board.

BTW, congratulations!
BTW, congratulations!
It feels bigger but not that much...I think after I get comfortable with it, it shouldn't be a factor. I was looking at the R Class which is just as long as this and a lot bulkier and did not have a problem when I test drove it. The interior room is great. I got in the back seat today behind the drivers position with the seat in my normal place and there was no shortage of leg room like sometimes in the E.

Best of luck, it’s a beauty. White on stone, ambitious but absolute class! Who knows, maybe I’ll jump ship soon too - but not quite as far up the food chain.

Yes it was a big jump for me but I always wanted an S and never seemed to pull it off. Glad I did it and I am really pleased with the White/Stone/Burl Walnut match. Hope to see you soon on the W221 forum...but I'll be on the W220...:-)

All Diesel Fleet !1983 240d stick,2005 E320 CDI Midnight blue, 2005 E320 CDI, Desert Silver, Kubota
S430 to E320 CDI
I recently traded my 2003 S Class for the same color E320 CDI( Desert Silver). The S definitely has a slightly better ride and the seats are wider, but with the Driver Adaptive seats, and the CDI engine, it is much faster than the S Class. Both are really great cars. For 2007 MY they will probably drop the V6 Diesel in the S. When they do that, and maybe drop the V8 diesel in the E, watch out!!!!

Some MBs & Bimmers
Hi NJ
Very nice and many congrats
The White exterior with Stone interior really stands out .... BUT a word of caution ...
If you have to deal with little ones, please scotch guard the interior. I have White/Stone on my w211 and the interior attracts dirt sooo easy.
Thanks for sharing your photos

The dealership has a treatment that covers the entire car...paintguard, fiberguard and leatherguard. It is called Perma Plate and I was offered the employee price ($595) for the package. The salesman raves about it but he has more than a customer interest..:-)
I have never gone for any of these treatments but would like to hear comment on this specific PermaPlate by Siskin Enterprises in Salt Lake City.

You can buy an awful lot of Zaino (or other) products for $600.
