Anything can be done for enough $$$...
But it is far from plug and play...
Perhaps in the future someone will develop the harnesses needed for a plug and play fit for cars witih AGW. There will be several wires, harnesses, and connectors involved but if there was enough interest perhaps someone could mass produce them.

E200K Avantgarde Facelift (May2007),Auto,Sunroof,Heated Seats,Xenon,Telephone,Parktronic,COMAND,
HK AGW for the new comand is a new part ( Concensus is that old ones will not work)
Harnesses are already for sale !!!! for both cases i.e.
a) Audio20 --> New Comand
b) Audio50/Old Comand-->New Comand (in this case you just throw away your old AGW)

This is what I am doing----You need a new sound amp for the HK and A LOT of wiring.
I do not this it is going to be possible to make it plag and play for COMAND w/ AGW equip cars--- female harnesses are not avail and would have to be moulded---I cannot see demand being high enough to justify this expense.
All the connectors you need to perform the swap are avail at the MB dealer, they are only a few dollars each, and you buy each pin. With wiring knowledge it is not that difficult to cut wires and install pins.
I finished 99% of the swap on Sunday---spent 8 or so hours on it. The remaining 1% is waiting on 2 connectors that were ordered last week----ETA Thurs.....

In the thread over at benzworld, it looks like someone found a site where you can buy some premade cables for the NTG 2.5 conversion.
http://www.kabeldaviko.de/r171-w211-adapterset_ntg.html
I'm not an expert though and don't know what else you would need. I hope this helps anyoen else that's preparing to do this. Would love to do the conversion on my car if someone can figure the whole thing out and put together the DIY instructions.

some slow@$$diesels
that is an adapter harness from ROW audio20 to NTG2 (like I said - some of the pinpositions are swapped around)...not needed for a US SLK audio20 btw (those are wired up different then all other SLK audio20s)...
for the microphone wiring and BT antenna I would rather use original harnesses
greetingz,

There is no harness to go from COMAND w/ AGW to NTG 2.5
Swap is done---
Parts used:
-NTG 2.5 COMAND w/ DVD changer
-2 plugs for back of unit and pins
-204 HK Sound amp (has sub amp built in/ w211 used a seperate sub amp $$)
-Harness connector for amp and 20+pins
-2009 211 Bluetooth antenna
-2009 211 AM/FM antenna cable (from ant amp to operating unit)
-2009 Nav antenna ext harness (from splitter to operating unit)
-Voice control lever (cheap)
1. AMP---Using wire schematics from STAR wiring, I cut and repined speaker wires/power/ground/mute/MOST turn-on from AGW and installed into harness (22 wires)----- MOST cable from AGW plugs in (I may have repinned mic wires (HK sound) on the 4 pin connector, I do not remember if the pin location differed?)---- cut and extend 2 data wires and reroute to front (COMAND)-----plug in amp
2. Reroute mic din harness (loacted center rear of trunk well in VC harness) to front to repin harness into COMAND socket location B)
3. Install new Nav antenna cable (splitter in left trunk well) and FM/AM antenna cable (ant amp in left c-pillar) and route to front of car (COMAND)
4. Remove and discard CD Changer (close MOST loop)
5. Remove and discard Nav unit (close MOST loop)
6. Install bluetooth antenna---mounts to top off UCP (where the CD changer was previously)
7. Install COMAND--Repin power/ground/MOST wake-up to new connector (plug A)----wire in 2 data wires (previously from AGW)---plug in AM/FM antenna and nav antenna---plug in blutooth antenna----pin in VC mic wire to socket B)
8. Install Voice control lever---pop out grommet and snap in lever
9. Done......I did have to perform any coding (cluster was already coded for nav).....the only last step before it worked was putting in the nav disc to download data.....
The new unit is great!!!!!!!! Nav looks nice, bluetooth and phone book are great......All in all, definitely worth my time.
I would say this swap is not for the faint of heart.....The entire car nearly gets dismantled( trunk panels, pillars, front carpet, center console pieces, b and c pillars) and is A LOT of wiring. On a DIY skill level 0-10, I would say 9 or better needed......

Congratulations on a difficult but rewarding job. Can't wait for pics!
Just wondering - how did you mount the amp? Is there a bracket available?
Also, where is a good place to source the connectors/pins/extensions?

I am planning to upgrade from NTG1 to NTG2.5 and I will be using the services of Kabeldavico.
Frank David Kozlowski is behind this company and he is a very very helpfull guy. I would sincerely recommend.
He has sets for
a) Audio20 to NTG2.5

b) Audio50/comand to NTG2.5
http://www.kabeldaviko.de/w211-219.html

All above at very reasonable prices ,so reasonable that it is not worth trying to make your own - atleast I think so.
Regards
George

just a note, because we have been getting alot of questions about reprogramming, I put together a vim/programmer piece for the NTG2.5 which eliminates the need to track down a developer SDS machine. basically you call and let us know what features you want activated on your NTG2.5 comand and Ill write a custom program to set all the correct features. This works for both US and euro comands and it also includes VIM for the DVD and video aux input.
