Parking Mirror

Does the passenger mirror still tilt when car in reverse? I have 09 E350, I had the mirror button set to passenger mirror, but it didn't tilt. I read the instruction manual on pg 108, looks I have everything in order. I read the thread somewhere that MB removed this option on the newer model? I checked the cluster and don't see anything. Any advise?

Hmmm, I don't know if they removed it, mine's got it, but I never used it, so I wouldn't know how to use it

You have to enable it on IC before it functions, regardless what mirror button set to. Unfortunately, like Barry45RPM said, this feature had already been deleted (around MY2007). However, you may be able to re-enable this feature on the IC with SDS.

I guess I'll mention it to SA when I go to the dealer next time.

I asked my service advisor about this very question, and he contacted a tech for me. The tech said that in MY2009 this option was deleted and that there was NO way to "re-activate" it like in past models. I don't know if this is true or not, but I'd like to get a 2nd opinion before I give up my search on how to enable the "parking mirror tilt" in my 2009 E350...

My 2008 E550 (built in mid 2007) didn't have it active, but my dealership activated it for me via SDS.

Why bother with the mirror. Mine 2003 E500 has been checked by the dealer twice and it still NEVER returns to the correct positions. I guess MB just gave up on it if it is deleted on the 2009 cars.

There is a clunky sort of way around this. Set the mirror to dip so it works like you want when backing up. Then use one of your three seat memory buttons and lock it in. Next time you back up, push the number you used on the memory button. After backing up, hit the memory number that you normally have set up for your driving.

It means you have to give up one of the seat memory configurations, but you do have three to choose from, so if you can live with two.......
