"Soft Open" for glove-box is broken, just slams down now. Any way to fix myself?

"Soft Open" for glove-box is broken, just slams down now. Any way to fix myself?
I don't know how it happened but all of a sudden that nice and smooth hydraulic opening is no more, and now the glove door just drops open. Do I have to take it in or any tips to fix myself?

Cool thanks for the Link. Yeah I was figuring I'd sit tight 'till Konigstiger gave me some info, lol.
I dunno if I'm inclined enough to take that on myself (I suck at that kind of stuff). Going to the Dealer for such a simple little thing is such a pain though....grr. At least I figure they could probably do it right away.

Konigstiger is the most valuable member on MBWorld, imho. He deserves a super big gold medal.
But maybe instead of hitting him up when he's already emailed to another member, just hit up that member instead. In other words, let's pass it around.
We can share some of the labor that way. And lighten it up a bit off Konigstiger. He's doing a lot already by just replying on this forum.

I have this problem and I am trying to figure out how to fix it. This is good, but does anyone know how to fix this. I wasn't clear after reading this. Do I have to remove the glove box and change the referenced part? Can someone clarify? Thanks.
