Exclamation E RAM SUPERCHARGER

Hi,

Was thinking of putting an ERAM supercharger on my 2003 E500. Mainly because coming upto summer car seems to be more sluggish compared to night time and during the cooler months. I realise air temp / denisty will play a role also. What do people know about this system and if it is effective for increase power / reduce fuel use?

http://www.electricsupercharger.com/

Thanks

damn thats the 15 hp one!!?!?!?!?!?!? get that now!

........ you made my day with your post. Warmer temps = less o2 in air = less power. so according to this amazing device..... it will increase the amount of air it flows into your intake tract, even if that were true, the amount of metered air would increase, which would lead to the ecu increasing the amount of fuel injected. how does increasing air (which also increases fuel consumption) reduce fuel use? just some food for thought

Hi. Yeah I wasn't sure about the actual device use to "meter" the air. Does it measure the actual O2 entering the intake as a volume / a percentage or simply measure the output based on CO2 and biproduct production? I was more thinking along the lines of low O2 making the car run lean thus leading to inefficent fuel consumption.

Anyone had experience with these devices?

i hear if you line up like 4 or 5 of them then you can start making some serious power, upgrade your muffler bearings, and top off your blinker fluid first though, or else you could get in to a real mess.

mtimbo, why listen to the "coemdians" that "quit their day jobs"? just buy one and use it.... then let us know how it went... I gave you a good answer, if you don't believe me then find out for yourself.

Also why are you so concerned about gas mileage? trade for an E with a smaller engine, or just dont floor it as much and use less AC

air density minimal to NO effect on your car...

based on the output and tuning in your car, the air density has an extremely minimal effect on your car. The A/C in summer months has more of an effect. Also when the fuel stations switch over to oxygenated fuel, that too will have an effect, but the air density in a non-turbo charged car, with stock or close to stock output, you won't notice it. I am sure it is something else. I will say this, most european cars that call for premium fuel get better mileage on premium. They can burn regular, but at retarded timing and lower fuel efficiency.

Thumbs down

It's already been proven that the MB OEM air filter provides a better flow than K&N and other miracle conic gimmicks. Do yourself a favor and stick to what you have. If you wish more power, go to a larger or a modified engine. AC will steal power from you in the Summer, but this does not mean that the car motor had lost it.

if your sharp enough to realize that I'm messing with you then I think you would be smart enough to figure out that if you put a cheese-weasel electric fan in your intake that it's not going to do jack *****.

Boardrnr - you kidding me? Instead of all this work, he should just upgrade to a bigger hamster in that gizmo.
