Is This E-Class Too Low? *PICS*

Hey guys, I may be picking this car up this week. The car looks great and drives suprisingly well, however, I am wondering whether I will have suspension problems, or any other expensive problems from being so low.

It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the front guards are already bent. The guy selling it said he will fix them for me, but it will only happen again. Would you reccommend getting the guards rolled?

Does this car have springs or airmatic, and is the car lowered through ELM or links? If it lowered through links, you can ask him to adjust/remove it before sale if you are concerned. It also look like the rear end is tucking more than the front. I would have him raise the rear a little, or lower the front more, to balance out the look.

Also before purchase, I would check the condition of the tires to see if they'll need to be replaced or not. If he also plans on rolling the fenders for you, make sure he doesn't crack any of the fender paint. Since this can occur during the rolling process.

Car looks good. Especially with the E63 kit. You just need to an E63 spoiler and it looks like the rear tail lights.

To me it's an easy answer. This set-up is not normal (standard) and if it was so good to have a car with such rediculous dropped suspension and unpractical harsh riding low side-wall profile then surely the Mercedes Benz engineers would have designed and released the vehicle as such?

Nice way to make a beautifully designed and built car look like a junk yard sold car. Sorry not even the pictures of this car is their money worth. Look for a well maintained car from a dealer.

I'm all for lowering the car a little but, IMO, that is just way too low. Not only will you have tire/tread wear issues, suspension issues, but be prepared for some road rash to your bumper and skirts.

Why is the seller selling, btw?

Hey man, thanks for your response. It has springs, and was not lowered through links. The tyres are wearing much faster on the inside than on the outside. He called me today and said that he fixed the fenders, but they were not rolled. They are only going to bend again right?

Yeah, the E63 kit really attracted me. The spoiler is definitely at the top of the list. I kinda like the tail lights as they are though!

Yeah, this guy has only had the car for 4,000km's (about 2,400miles) and the rear's are already down to 60% on the inside.

He's selling to buy a house.

what size are the rims? and what size are the rubber? Might be able to go with a smaller width on the fronts to avoid the fender damage

Better get some camber kits and a good alignment if you get the car, it'll eat tires like crazy. Other than that, it should be fine.

I agree. The car looks horrible. As if it was owned by a 16 year old who had nothing better to do with their time than spend their parent's money "modding" the car to make it look progressively worse.
