So far, just the price of the pipes. $1073. I'm still not sure how much the muffler shop will change me to cut these tips off and fit the stock amg tips on. But I'm guessing around another $100-150

Just to replace tips I think you'll be in it less than that. Do you have any other mods on the exhaust?

No. Resonators and cats are untouched.

The only problem I have is no muffler shop in my area does stainless welding, or uses stainless piping for that matter.

Got the tips replaced today. Came out pretty good. Sound didn't change any as you might imagine. Couldn't use the original tips due to the way the original pipes were bent down. So I picked out some aftermarket tips that somewhat match the stock tips. After welding, I sprayed the welds flat black. Doesn't look half bad IMHO.

Once a while I do something stupid like this ... Does anyone know if I can replace this piece by myself? It's 2007 model. Thanks!

Pics!!

As for me, as the bad weather rolls in I decided to keep the E550 garaged and did my regiment of complete wax strip down with an emulsifying detergent, thorough wash with a pressure washer, wet-dry process, acrylic paint sealant, 2 layers of carnuba wax blend, then a hardener. I try to do this once a month or once every two months to keep it protected. Not too bad for a middle of the winter detail job (don't mind the terrible cell phone picture and wood working equipment in the garage):

Wheels & tires are on. Got it washed & drove it! First time in over a month. I missed driving it. I've been slumming in my Father's Lexus. Pics of the wheels are forth coming.

I'll try to do the lights this weekend if it get's warm enough.

Took it to the Body Shop to get a new front bumper, foglight and other bits. A snow bank thought it'd be funny to hide from my wife's view...

Got it back from the dealer yesterday, had to pay for replacing SBC Pressure Reservoir, almost 1200$.
Fortunately the message "Service Brakes Visit Workshop" is gone.

Dug a car size hole in my backyard and told the car that if it didn't stop throwing the P0302 code, it was going in the hole.
Then I washed and waxed it.

"threaten to break the car's knee caps".
Nah, can't blame the car. A short end would be best.
It looks great though.

Jammed a probe up it's port and monitored HO2S while driving, after erasing DTCs so I don't have to look at the CEL
