Arg, so with this reasoning now I'm figuring on doing the mod... thanks!! lol

Just to clarify parts:

Left mirror: 211 810 15 76
https://www.benzpartshq.com/oem-part...bly-2118101576

Right Mirror: 211 810 16 76
http://www.mboemparts.com/mercedes-b...t/mirrors-scat

Mirror switch: 21182151797C45 EDIT: This might not be correct.
Found the following: via this thread:https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...rt-number.html
2118216179
2118217579
2118208510

Do I have those correct?

Now for the questions...lol

1. How hard was it to disassemble the stock mirror housings and putting them on the power folding ones? For some reason I can see breaking the glass mirror?

2. I assume that the power folding mirror are plug and play via our current cars. No splicing or needing to buy different connectors to make it work?

3. Installing the door trim mirror switch is also plug and play right? Any issues removing trim/door panel to install switch?

Coding is easy since I have that and have seen the option when messing with stuff to enable power folding mirrors, anything else to look out for when installing these?

I like your reasoning on this project. If I purchase the mirrors separately then it won't be such a kick in the nuts to do...hahaha I should start by buying the cheapest thing which is the switch.

Where did you source your mirrors from btw? I've called a couple dealers this morning and they all said they were unable to order said parts above which I thought was weird.

Thanks :-)

glass mirror is easy. there's a long clip that you remove then twist and it'll come off. Putting it back on is little tricky but doable.

And...

1) The glass pops out without without too much effort.

2) Yes plug and play but mertd83 swapped my '09 door module with an 06' getting it to work automatically isn't very obvious in star. He has it in his E55 so we used that reasoning. No new connectors.

3) No major problems removing the trim. You have to remove the speaker. Just use a trim removal tool. Installing the switch is straight forward after removing the old one.

Most of the parts were sourced by mertd83 a while ago. With the driver's motor just recently. You can use your mirrors you are replacing the mechanism behind them.

Does it go out with the interior lights upon entrance and the door closed?

Plain white would work for me.

In the previous pictures posted I had zapped the thing with a flashlight before shooting them. It only glows brightly when you go from a bright sun environment to like a dark parking garage. Usually it's very subtle - the writing I was worried about too, but it's hardly that noticeable.

kinda agree on this one. It just looks...odd. Doesn't fit the mb "standard"

However, i personally think, if that color was somewhat dimmer and matched with the rest of the interior lights, then i think it would've looked nice tho!

Everything in the car looks smooth af annnnd you notice that bright ring out the window. At least yellow lightened ring would've looked a little more oem, if you know what i mean...no offense tho, it's a nice idea btw.

On a side note, you can change the color and even if you can't...it's the aftermarket things we add that makes our cars look cheap, not the stock items designed by the car manufacturer.

In my experience... 95% of aftermarkets items people add to their cars look like crap. With that said, there are the occasional unicorns.

Edit: Corrections - aftermarkets from reputable companies such as Brabus and Dinan do not count. I am speaking of the ones from Alibaba, ebay, and autozone.

Yes totally agree !

I also like to go oem wheels when updating, rarely can one find an aftermarket wheel that suits that particular manufacturer.

You and me both...I have been looking for the CLS500 (5 spoke) wheels for AGES!!!

Sadly I had to throw on some new tyres as the old ones were showing threads. However, my eyes are still open on craigslist.

This is a toss up because it is not horrid, however, I would pass.

Never understood the point of them when it comes to aero and or function for street use. With that said, it does have a slight cool factor to it, which differentiates the car from a standard one.

Then again....I LOVEEEE sleepers so after ten minutes of being wishy washy...I'd say meh and nah, pass!
