Replacing Low profile with regular tires
Driving in the northeast the roads are terrible, I have a 2008 E350 4Matic that I am thinking of getting rid of the low profile tires and replacing them with regular tires. Could I use the existing rims? would the suspension need to be adjusted.
Thank you

I would not recommend using your existing wheels with bigger tires. Usually you have to keep your overall wheel+tire diameter or you'll run into a few problems. I would suggest you get a dedicated set of winter wheels and tires instead.

If you get bigger profile tires using same rim diameter you will have a problem. Actually a big problem. Your ESP light will turn on as soon as you start rolling. And your trans will not shift into 2nd gear. Our cars have a rear wheel speed sensor. Take it from me, not because I'm an MB expert but because I didn't know this and I changed the tires and had this problem, lol
You can search on tirerack.com and you put in what car, and size rim you have and it will tell you what tires can be used on your car.
What size rims and tires do you have on your car now?

You need to downsize the wheels in order to upside the sidewall. What size wheels are you running?
I run 18" in the summer and 16" in the winter. There is a big difference in sidewall, and the 16" absorb potholes like a champ.
Eayacht - you still have a set of 16" wheels and tires for sale?

+1. I also live in the the northeast and still have my OEM 16's/OEM tires on a Tirerack rack in the garage, with 95%+ tread. I usually drive my cars to the ground even though cannot imagine how, especially with this one, since I've only done 36K miles in almost 7 years from new. Fortunately (or not) this is not my daily driver, an SUV is.
