Fuel pump in 2008 E350 costs over $3,000.00
I am new to MB's and just picked up a pristine 2008 E350 with 100,000 miles. Are these cars only for millionaires? I never expected my first bill was going to be over $3,000.00 for a fuel pump! I am already thinking about selling it.
Is the e350 considered to be a lemon?
It's a beautiful car and dives great

However you should check this forum because there are some MB recalls regarding defects of the fuel system that are covered for free.

If they learned it is under warranty would they get reimbursed from MB?

My local dealer changed the fuel tank on my E63 no questions asked under the warranty. They even let me take a loaner while the car was there. I had a fuel smell with mine after filling it up and fuel pooling under the back seats.

My Indy told me they checked with MB about the fuel pump/gas tank problem and said my VIN was excluded, even though it has been in California the entire time

I assume I should contact a local dealer to see if any recall service has been performed regarding the fuel system?
